I'm really sick of playing against Tau, they just don't feel like they have disadvantages (don't tell me "assault them", my dudes get freaking massacred when I try that).

Personally I'm against IK, but not because they are too overpowered/underpriced. I think they are priced decently for what they are, and 100 points more is definitely way too much for them.

The two problems I have with knights is they are a hard counter and have too many hard counters against them. A FMC or Flyer heavy army can do a lot of hurt with no fear of return fire. However they can effectively ignore all standard weapons in the game. Lasguns, bolters, and even pulse rifles are completely useless against them. Personally I don't think it's a good army to have so many glaring faults. You want a codex for IK? Fine. Make them scoring even. But make it so they have to take some support units and even allow them a bit of anti-air. If you're going to make a codex, make one that can stand on it's own instead of hoping people will flock to buy allies.

I personally hate any army list that spams AV 14. I have no problem with it in small numbers, but the instant it becomes more than three it just becomes a game of how many can you actually damage to make a difference.

Also anything that seems like people are looking for loopholes in the game to make it feel like they can never lose aka 2++ re-rolls, deathstars, and spamming certain units that are generally agreed to be under-costed or OP.

I'm pretty laid back about 40k most of the time so I don't have much in the way of hated armies. I guess I would have to pick Dark Eldar. Even that one is more a "love hate relationship".

My usual DE opponent plays lots of venoms and splinter cannons; and I play Tau. So we basically just stand there glaring daggers at each other during our respective shooting phases and occasionally exclaiming "wait, there's more shooting?"

I always love the games I have against him because they're really challenging and memorable for both sides (and usually end very one sided one way or another), but I absolutely loathe his army while I'm actually playing.

Tau. I'm utterly sick of them. I went to a local tournament and guess what... over 40% Tau. Oh boy, look at all those people jumping onto the bandwagon and having a jolly old circle **** together with all their Riptides.

Stupid fishpeople.

The last game I played was against a necron player that was running 4 or 5 min warrior squads in scythes and the C'Tan from the escalation book. It was honestly the most frustrating and boring game I have ever played. 80% of my army couldn't do anything to the C'Tan because of the high toughness, and he just strength D'd my MCs, killing 2 or 3 a turn. It was absolutely pointless, and it was the first time I've ever wanted to just pack up and leave in the middle of a game. By the end of turn 2, I had already lost over half of my army thanks to the D weapons and the hellstorm template.
I know that this is a very specific army (I usually don't have a problem playing necrons), but it was just ridiculous.

Most of my opponents are Tau. I don't have too much trouble against them with Daemons or Nids but I find fighting them very boring. It's like they have 4 phases, move - markerlight - shoot - jump. And their overwatching takes so long because they all join in so it feels like they get a shooting phase on your turn.

I hate playing against Imperial Guard. Different opponents, same army style that gets old quick. lots of armor and behind a ADL. Worst was 3 basilisk(or Medusa, not sure the names) on top of skyshield landing pad for the invuln save. Just never have fun against IG.

The Tau. Borring, mono strategy army that is currently the easy mode of 40k.

I know those feels, man! "Oh, you play crons? Get up close!" That's the problem though, I can never get that far.

White Scar bike list - w/ the scout move + turbo boost on turn one they already on you. Then to top off they all have 3+ cover or 3+ armor b/c of skilled rider. They ignore all terrain.

They have Grav guns, meltas, and lots of bolter fire.

It gets silly unless you playing a really competitive list.

I know how you feel OP. One of my usual opponents plays drop pod wolves, with flamer termies and marine flamers, plus all the free plasma he gets and Logan. While I don't hate it because I love 40k, it's a real challenge with termies, even if I have my executioner, they still get in CC.
On Saturday night played against tau+GK, had 2 amounted sentinels tie up Paladin squad with Draigo almost all game,and a combined effort of 30 guardsmen beat a Riptide to death in CC, over an objective to win the game

Tau. They literally are played like a British 1800's army. They stand in a line and kill stuff from 3/4 of the way across the map. They then coat you in markers making it even less likely your guns are going to ever get into firing range the following turn. I think that if I was allowed too I'd would hold a gun to the guy at gw that's responsible for faq's and errata and demand he remove markerlights completely from the tau arsenal. And strip their gd crisis suits of hit and run.

I might not blow his brain out after for the incompetence of gw staff.

Dark Eldar Venomspam. I don't really need to unpack my Tyranids, I just go "good game 20-0 to you. Do you have another army or should I just go home?" It's the silliest matchup in 40K history.

Any shooty army behind a fortification.

It feels wrong that Eldar get all the fancy stuff for so cheap. I don't mind 'Ancient omfg technologies' but it must cost appropriately. Yep, serpent shield and holo fields, scatter lasers are all cool and technologically advanced and stuff. But make a wave serpent with scatter laser and holofields cost 170 like it should up from 135.
3+ bikes (for some unknown reason) with skilled rider, insane speed, jsj, rending weapons and they're scoring troops. Cool, but make them cost 21-22 pts

Sick of playing Tau. Unfortunately, my usual opponent brings Tau but he's been looking at branching out. It's either bring a nasty list which is frustrating for him or bring a less than optimal list and get shot to death if I dare move my units and I get frustrated. It's just an endurance test. I'm looking forward to a different play style.

I feel bad making my psyker rolls. It's such a pain. I picked up the iphone Psykers app this weekend just to speed it up and I've spent time practicing my rolls and decision trees to speed this up. It's even annoying for myself...

Bit sick of fighting Eldar Wraith armies to be honest, there are more difficult opponent's out there but the games just never seem to be much fun.

Anything Nurgle. Or At least with the luck my friend has. When I put 30+ S5 shots into you, manage to get six of them past your 3+ only to have you successfully complete 5/6, 5+ fnp saves... not fun. And that was the unit of 10 WITHOUT the outflanking squad of 10 with the warlord in a 500 pt game. 4 turns of shooting to kill a grand total of two nurgle marines, and one kill had been from a S10 weapon that gave a giant middle finger to his fnp but was then blown sky-high due to my own poor positioning.

Bandwagon-er tau. Most of the old tau players are quite interesting to play with because we had to get quite tactically smart with the old codex, but it is no fun playing against people who just bought tau because they are strong and play with a seven riptide list.

Yes, I have been on both sides of that coin. My opponent's death company somehow managed to make 5 or more FNP rolls. That was the Tau shooting phase where I killed 0 enemy models. Tau can not come back from a turn like that.

Additionally I have just stopped putting stimulant injectors on my riptide. For one thing because 35 points can better be spent else-ware (i.e. more guns), but for another because putting feel no pain on that monstrosity was making my opponents want to strangle me.

Clearly you slept through the 5th edition Durp Knights vs. Daemons match-ups... You know, the ones where your opponent could actively stop you from even being able to deploy a single fething model on the table?!

On a serious note, I hate donkey caves who design their armies with the sole purpose of crushing their opponent as fast as possible & with the least amount of actual effort required. It's a game of toy soldiers, yet for some people, it seems to be how they measure the true size of their penis.

Imperial Guard. If anyone around here ever played Eldar, they'd get the number 1 vote, but at this point it seems as if they've effectively been shunned in my meta.

Even though I usually beat them I hate playing them. It feels like no matter what unit I take, or how I position them, or how much cover I get they can simply choose 1-2 units a turn and remove them from the board with either no saves allowed or 50+ saves to make. Nothing is safe against them.

Also they always have an answer for everything you do to close the gap and exploit their "weakness" of melee.(And I love playing melee units)

Deep Strike - Entire army has intercepter for dirt cheap
Transports - Str 7 Spam
Somehow make it to assault? - Free shooting phase for half his army

I guess I'm different, it's not a specific army for me, it's the 1/2 build army that bugs me.

I put tons of time assembling and painting, and only get to play once or twice a month. I don't want to play the army you bought 2 days ago with no arms/heads/weapons, whatever. I come to play and have fun.
