Is there an imperial knight alternate model out there that looks pretty good?

I know of the leviathon from dfg but it's either way to big or to small... Are there more that look pretty good?

What kinda look are you going for? a warmachine/hordes model might be what you are looking for. (they have a lot that could work)

Agreed. The Khador Konquest or the Cygnar Stormwall would work very well as the basis for a knight, and are very close in hull size.

If it's cost related, I don't think the Warmachine would be any good as they're more expensive than the Knight otherwise they may be a good fit... albeit a bit out of place looks wise.

Not sure where you got the idea that the Conquest or Stormwall was more expensive than the Knight. You can get either of the Warmachine models for less than $90 while the Knight runs around $110.

Could look at the Gundam models in the 1/100 range, they're the right size for stand ins. I don't have one, but a 1/100 Tieren ground type would be a decent knight replacement I think.

Here's one against a 1/100 Zaku and Virtue Gundam to show the scale to it.

The problem with the IK is that it kind of has a distinct look. Only Warmachine comes close.

I'll look around, but I don't think I'll find much.

Gundam models would look wrong for an Imperial Knight. The closest would be the Dreamforge Leviathan Crusader; it looks like a giant Grey Knight. However, it's about two inches taller and still costs the same.

Yeh I'd like something like the dream forge model but it's to tall or to short...

I've been looking for the past hour to no avail I'm getting ready to hire a skulpter.

Most of the models that are most like the Knight are worse looking for a higher price, so I don't think I can help you OP.

Just out of curiousity, what is the issue with the Dreamforge 28mm Leviathan being too tall? The standard Knight is already tall enough that most terrain won't hide it, so adding another two inches won't make much of a gameplay difference most of the time. Besides, the Knight Lancer from Forgeworld is going to be about the same height as the Leviathan.

I think moving forward you may find that the height standard may creep up on these as Forgeworld releases more and more models for it making the 28mm Leviathan more appropriately sized than you think.
But then again I'm probably biased...

I think you have the gist of it, the Lancer already stands two or three heads taller. I expect they with release barons that with also be bigger than your standard knight so the Leviathan might very well fall into the right size given time.

That is a pretty cool model, but is about 8" tall so is again getting to be about Leviathan size.

the problem is you'd be giving your opponent thr extra couple inches of LOS on the knight. since the weapons are still slung low, the extra size won't make shooting any easier. for a while, Dreamforge was running a 50% off sale on these badboys. very tempting... til I remembered that I am unemployed...

I would never run a Leviathan as a Knight. it costs even more and is the wrong size with worse detail.

EDIT: though that Blightwheel mech is cool.

Interesting... while I like the blightwheel mech I would have said it has even less detail than the Leviathan does, albeit it does have a more gothic feel to it. Also the 28mm Leviathan can be found easily for around $90 compared to the $140 Imperial Knight, but it can end up being more if you start buying extra arm weapons and parts to convert it if that is what you mean.

unless you just really hate the aesthetic of the knight, go with the knight. You can get them for $114 on ebay perfectly legit with no grey area. discountgamestore is your friend here.

If your issue is aesthetic, then I would say one of these two should suit your fancy.

if not then I'm out of ideas here.

I think it looks to have a lot of detail and a excellent pilot.

it does but not as much as the imperial knight and the pilot is onpar with the forge world warhound/ reaver titan pilots. thus im gonna be putting the blightwheel mech pilot in my knight

As far as the pilot and interior go, I can see why people like it, but that doesn't really do much for me ( I also have yet to finish painting the pilots for my reaver). I was referring to the exterior detail. I think most people are used to seeing the Leviathan Crusader with all of the armor plates on it, and if you compare that with the blightwheel than yes the blightwheel looks to have much more detail. For the leviathan to fit into the 40k style I personally think you have to loose the armor plates, which in turn ads more detail.

All in all I think the blightwheel probably fits the 40k style better, there is just something slightly cartoonish that I don't like about it.
