I'm currently collecting the last two all metal armies - Sisters and (non-Cadian/Catachan) Imperial Guard - so I'll just be over here praying that this isn't used as an excuse to drop metal models altogether.

That is a legitimate and terrifying concern.

I am hoping that this website doesn't just make it easier to shop, etc, but actually has stuff that is useful to everyone ! Like updated FAQ's !! That would make a lot of people very happy.

From the way it's phrased, "your patience will be rewarded" suggests that the new website will have something that GW KNOW will make players happy. And it probably won't be models, because they have been following the quick codex release schedule, with new models coming alongside. Maybe there's been a small team working on updating the faq's? It would be odd if they created an entire new website but re-uploaded the old faqs\errata pdf's without adding anything new. One can hope.

You don't update a website just to provide new FAQs. And you don't need a new website to offer updated FAQs.

In all likelihood it will just be a fancy new website with Black Library and Forge World all combined in one place and a new interface/design, etc.

GW clearly has no interest in updating their FAQs or else they would have. They are much more interested in constantly producing new rules than curating the ones they've already put out.

Oh, and articles! Back when I started Wh40k in 2004, the GW site tended to have all sorts of painting and modelling articles, tactica, etc. It's all gone now
I can't remember when they dropped it all. I think it was sometime in 2008.

Oh, and since there is already a thread on this topic in the news and rumors forum, there is no need to have this one here as well, splitting the conversation into two.
