Hey guys. I'm getting an imperial knight for my nurgle army and want to make it look slightly less clean. I'm going to take the following steps do so...
Remove any imperial markings
Drill plenty of holes in it to make it look battle worn
Heat up some files and press them in slightly to make bigger battle damage marks
Liquid green stuff on a sponge to add some rust texture to the metal parts and on some of the plating
I'm looking for any other ways you guys can come up with to help me.
Cheers,
James

Find some really fine sand & glue this on. It will look like rust bubbling up.
The sand I used on this was too course:
I primedit Halford's red oxide car primer & then used weathering pigments.
Also Hobbycraft does a set of self-adhesive half spheres with a number of different sizes. Link - http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/hobbycraft-adhesive-gem-stones-round-black-56-pieces/566610-1000
I have started using these to make pustules. Now at half-price @ £1!!

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

Thanks for the help man that looks great. What glue did you use to stick the sand on with? Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, how did you fix your pigments on?

spray paint texture, comes in a regular spray paint can and cost about 5 bucks, great for weathering or nurgling up a vehicle, and its real fine, so you can double coat certain areas to give different thickness on parts, really cool stuff, easy and very effective

There is no Emperor, false or otherwise. |

Thank you - I was just trying to see how much paint you actually need to paint certain models - the answer is not very much!!
Just PVA glue to fix the sand. I also took a Dremmel to it.
I tend not to fix my pigments any more - it seems to dilute the colour, sometimes even making it disappear altogether, & as it's mostly in the recessed areas it takes a lot to rub it off. If I do fix then I use MIG Pigment Fixer.

Raid your kitchen cupboards, particularly the spices area and grab seeds. I find mustard seeds are great for boils and buboes but poppy or others may do just as well too.
