Now Live on Kickstarter, The Miasma War, the first Expansion for On The Lamb's Endless Fantasy Tactics.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/otlgames/the-miasma-war-endless-fantasy-tactics

This 140 page book will be full color and include 16 story-based scenarios, along with a bunch of new rule variations.

- Taisen Mode: Alternative initiative rules to streamline play at higher Party Sizes. For those interested in doing mass battles, we’ve got you covered.
- Adventure Mode: The Boss AI rules previously teased on the VH are being adapted for all EFT minis. Now you can play “singleplayer” or “co-op”! These rules will work either standalone or with the Miasma War campaign.
- Mai Yunito, a Character Creation System: Designed to allow players to create their Player Avatar/Main Character, this allows job changing and permanent abilities for a unique flexibility to your party.
- New Units including new & variant classes, new monsters, new characters, and new Bosses.

For those not familiar with Endless: Fantasy Tactics...
Spoiler:

The world of Terra was forever altered when four of it’s six moons crashed into the planet, breaking apart and revealing their sources of magic, the Crystals. The magical energy of the Crystals bathed the world, giving skill and power to those who had never known it.

The four elements marked all living things. The Magma Crystal scorched the lands of Zeutenheim, but gave strength and resolve to it’s people. The Deep Crystal gave a bounty to the plains of Halleford, and gave life to magical creatures. The Iron Crystal sealed away the cities of the dwarves, but gave trolls the power to build their hero-testing dungeons. The Sky Crystal lifted a continent into the air and gave power to wizards, letting them cast spells alone, that they could never dream of casting in the cabals before the disaster.

The planet itself was polarized by the event, the magical draw of the Crystals keeps one side of the planet always facing its star. Despite the tragedy, the world moved on; knights defended castles, wizards researched spells, and trolls built dungeons.

Now, as the world has settled into it’s new order, one of the Crystals has fractured, and a sickening, corrupting miasma has spewed forth, altering any who touch it. A new war rises on this planet of Endless Day and Endless Night. Will your group be the heroes who save Terra?

Endless: Fantasy Tactics is a grid based miniatures game designed as a homage to console rpgs of the 90s. Players build parties of heroes, monsters, and bosses to play out scenarios and campaigns on a small play area.

In addition to the new book, our base goal will include 8 new miniatures, sculpted by Patrick Keith (Bombshell Babes, Counterblast, Reaper Miniatures), Sean Bullough (Warmachine/Hordes), and Bob Naismith (Warhammer 40k, Kings of War, Brushfire). Further stretch goals will fund more art for the book and additional models.

The pledge levels will use a points/picks system, allowing every backer to get exactly what they want, and will include digital copies of all Endless's printed components (Rulebook, stat cards, etc).

To hype everyone up, we’ve got a teaser of Scenario 7, in the link below. In the full campaign book, each Scenario will have art and RPG style dialog to bring players into the story.

Item Shop of Horrors - TMW Scenario 7

We hope you like what you see and check out the project when it goes live. We’ll keep you informed over the coming weeks and post here on May 1st.

If you’re looking to spread the word, here are a few banners you can use. Last campaign our backers put a lot of effort into helping share the project, and we really appreciate all they (and you!) have done to help OTL. Some of the backers mentioned banners last time, so here they are!

Banners:

We’ve also got EFT Avatars in the Avatar Thread right on our subforum.

Color me interested!

Will the bulk of the figures on offer be metal or resin?

I'll definitely be checking this out, after spending the bulk of my college years playing just about every game of this style. You name it, I probably played it, especially during the PS1 era.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Over the next 2 weeks we'll be doing a series of 'Meet the ...' posts, talking about the units included in the base goal for the Kickstarter. Today's is Meet the Barghest.

Indigenous to Zeutenheim’s mountainous regions, the Barghest has been trained over the centuries as a guard and tracking animal. Members of the species in the wild continue to set their prey on fire before going in for the kill, but to keep their food undamaged, humans bred fire magic out of the domesticated breeds.

This selective breeding was undone by the Crystal Fall, which augmented the latent magical powers of every creature on Terra. Now, Zeuten Soldiers release packs of Barghests against their enemies, setting both their foes and the terrain ablaze. This strategy has released a significant number of these fire hounds into the wild, to run amok on outlying villages.

The Barghest is a 1 point model that can inflict the Burn status effect with a Basic Attack. This is a great way to get extra damage in each turn while avoiding the higher DEF of some models. The Passive ability “Devour” also helps with the survivability of the low HP model, by healing 1 HP with each basic attack. Consider using Barghests as ‘guard dogs’ to keep the enemy from claiming tokens or objectives.

The Barghest is also a summonable model by the Summoner [F]. With only a 2 MP cost, the Barghest can be kept on the table for a long time, or summoned and dismissed to use the Summoner’s special Line/Burn attack, twice before running out of MP.

On The Lamb's sculpting seems to have improved recently with Bushfire so I'm tentatively hopeful it might be worth picking up a figure or two. Not holding my breath though.

Why should we buy them when Matt will just give them away for free?

Really excited about this project!

I'll admit to not paying much attention to OTL's efforts, but I'm not sure I've heard this before - care to elaborate?

I don't know what there is to expand upon in my statement. Most of OTLs models are nice in concept, but just not that good.

They can be a bit labor intensive to clean up sometimes their casting can be a bit hit or mix although as I understand it they have been taking steps to constantly improve.

We've been a tiny company who freelances all of our art/sculpting, so we've had to go with the best we can afford rather then the best in the industry for quite some time. This has resulted in some lackluster sculpts in the past, but it also means that also means that we end up working with a lot of new to the industry talent.

Zond wrote:On The Lamb's sculpting seems to have improved recently with Bushfire so I'm tentatively hopeful it might be worth picking up a figure or two. Not holding my breath though.

Thanks to Kickstarter now being a thing that actually works we are able to afford higher quality sculptors, which is why you'll find Bob Naismith, Jason Wiebe, Bobby Jackson, Mike Evans, and Patrick Keith sculpts in our ranges. The Sculpts in the Miasma War are going to be primarily handled by Patrick Keith (of Bombshell Babes/Counterblast fame) who has done the Dragoon [F], Crusader [F], and Lyra Cosine for Endless; and Sean Bullough who did some of Skorne's best sculpts.

Pat's sculpts:
Spoiler:

And speaking of Patrick... Here is today's Meet the Lunarian

Introduced to the world by Summoners, Lunarians are theorized to be denizens of Terra’s Moons. These rabbit-like humanoids remain completely covered by their clothing, and no one has seen their true form. Since first contact, Lunarians have managed to appear on Terra without being summoned. The Magickal Akademy believes the Lunarians have reverse engineered the summoning spells to travel from the Moons.

Wielding massive hammers in combat, the Lunarians are formidable foes. Both the 1 point and 2 point versions are able to give themselves Stat boosts simply by moving to different height levels, or ‘bunny hopping’. Both versions are also able to cast healing spells, providing unique alternatives to the human Clerics or Chemists. Their Lower MP means you may need to take an additional support model to keep up your Party’s survivability.

The 2 point Lunarian can be summoned by the Summoner [F] for 3 MP. This means you can only summon once and use the special Around/Blind attack. Using the Attuned Call ability and giving the Summoner the Holy Blood effect means the Lunarian can heal the Summoner using basic attacks, conserving some of its MP for other attacks.

The Lunarian will be sculpted by Patrick Keith, and we are hoping on having a WIP/Final sculpt of it at launch.

Bob Naismith did the Gels, Dwarf, and pretty much everything else in EFT1.

Exceptions are The Sorcerer [M], and the initial (rejected) Beastmen Laborer that done by Daniel Fokine.

Gels a later stretch goal currently, but we might move stuff around depending on how it goes.

I'd like to add a Healer, Ranger, and Pugilist to the current Warrior and Wizard versions, allowing a player to make a classic D&D party of Gels.

Well then I feel that the Dwarves and Gel's were some of the best and most unique models to come out of your original EFT Kickstarter and I think you would be doing yourself a disservice by not making both of them an early and prominant addition to your upcoming Kickstarter.

Most people have tons of generic fantasy huminoids but what they dont have is piles of sentient goo and all head dwarves.

I demand more Goo!

Here is today's Meet The Mandragora!

Once considered a plague by the High Elves, Mandragora are semi-sentient plants that live in the jungles of Arganea. Numerous magical experiments were undertaken to study these creatures, in the hopes of utilizing their mana generating photosynthesis to drive the Elven war machine. Every experiment led to the destruction of the stock used, as they quickly went out of control.

Campfire stories among humans still whisper of the enhanced Mandragora that got away. Supposedly they grow in a hidden valley, sending tendrils across the world to choke out all life. Such stories are of course dismissed, but the threat of the normal Mandragora on Arganea makes the island continent a dangerous place to explore.

The Photosynthesis core ability allows the 1 point Mandragora to regenerate MP, a rarity among EFT models. Effective use of the Mandragora’s status effects can lock down more dangerous physical opponents, but the low starting MP means the Mandragora will need back up. A few Mandragora working in sequence can stretch out their MP pools much more efficiently.

The Mandragora will be sculpted by Sean Bullough.

Today's Meet the Kappa

One of the earliest forms of life created by the Water Trolls, the Kappa have not developed beyond a stone age society. Their tribal units are ruled by Alpha Kappa, the strongest among their warriors. In Halleford, where their densest population exists, the Kappa are considered little more than vermin, harassing folk along the rivers and lakes of the fertile land. From time to time Kappa kidnap children in a vain attempt to ‘raise’ them as new Kappa. Commonly, a band of adventurers will come along and wipe out a particularly troublesome tribes.
In Arclight Mire, like many of the denizens of that magic-tinged swamp, the Kappa have become powerful aquamancers, casting spells to surprise even the most studious wizards. These Arclight Kappa are the closest to a real indigenous threat Halleford has. In recent years, these creatures have subsumed lesser Kappa tribes, teaching them water spells and leading them on raids of river towns that feed into the Arclight Mire.
With a decent 3 ATK and MAG, Kappa are great Mage Killers for their 1 point cost. Combined with the usual low MOV of casters, and the Slow effect caused by the Kappa generating water terrain, once a Kappa catches a mage, they’ll never get away. The Kappa is also a Summoned creature, for the low cost of 2 MP. The dismiss effect causes a Poison cone, creating a great ‘going away present’ for their opponents.

The Kappa will be sculpted by Sean Bullough.

Goodness, how did I miss this...

Hello everyone! I'm Ramos, also known as Rollin' All Ones, and I do a bunch of painting for OtLG- like the dragoon sculpted by patrick Keith (gosh that photo is unflattering to her!), and this Beastman Laborer:

Spoiler:

Im also a rabid EFT fan... Between my brothers and I, we're getting a new game in every couple of days! It's a great game, and teaching it is a matter of a few minutes! Sort of one of those "half hour to learn, lifetime to master" kind of deals

If you've never heard of it before, really the best way to describe it is a grid-based JRPG brought to the tabletop. As a kid of the 90's, this is what really made it shine for me. Games like Fire Emblem and FF:Tactics were staples of my gaming youth. Add that to some particularly cool sculpts like the Dragoon, and you've sold me! I can't help but echo Catyr's sentiments towards the Gels and Dwarves... I absolutely adore them!!

So whether you like the games of old or the minis of now, I can definitely recommend checking it out- For my part, I'll be doing little showcases and how-to's on painting and basing EFT figures every so often as the campaign progresses! Stay tuned!

Till next time!~

Welcome to the thread Ramos.

Here is today's Meet the Rune Fencer

While the Elves ruled the world, the Rune Fencers were the iconsRune Fencer of resistance. With their runeblades, the Fencers could travel undetected by Elven Mage Stalkers, giving humanity the ability to fight back against their oppressors. Forged by the Dwarves, Rune Weapons are sentient beings, able to fight with or against those that wield them.
In the centuries since, Rune Weapons are lost and found, passed down through the generations, or to those deemed worthy by the weapon’s mind. Today, Rune Fencers are prized bodyguards or ‘trophy’ mercenaries that Nobles gather to show off their wealth and power. The strength of the Rune Fencer is not sullied by these positions, and they remain the prime example of Light Armored, Anti-Mage combat.
As a 2 point model, Rune Fencers have a decent selection of Commands, many of which are ATK+MAG, allowing them to dish out a decent amount of damage for the MP Cost. They are also capable of regenerating MP when targeted by spells. This will either result in a decent supply, or your opponent avoiding targeting the Rune Fencer with their more powerful attacks. A winning situation either way. Their Medium DEF and HP means the Rune Fencer is best used by effectively exploiting the status effects of their attacks to neutralize the opponent.

The Rune Fencer will be sculpted by Patrick Keith.

A little over a week to go until we launch.

Aye, its not likely that we'll be shipping a container of stuff across the pond. Everything will be produced in and shipped from Florida, but we're going to max out International shipping at $15.

Any chance of some pledge level/add-on previews before the KS launches cyp?

As long as it doesn't ruin any hidden surprises of course.
