So I am playing in a campaign right now and we have been playing at 1000 points (with a supreme warlord who does not count toward the point cost). The next stage has come and we have been given an upgrade of 300 points. Here is the list as it stands
Chapter Tactics: Black Templar
HQ
Chaplain, auspex = 95
Terminator Captain w/ thunder hammer/storm shield = 150
Command Squad w/ 3 plasma guns, 1 storm shield/pw, apothecary in drop pod = 220
Troops
10 initiates w/ sword brother, combi-melta, meltagun, power fist, drop pod = 230
10 initiates w/ flamer, drop pod = 180
Fast Attack
Stormtalon w/ skyhammer missile launcher = 125
1000

My Supreme warlord will also ride with this list, he is a chapter master w/ shield eternal, and burning blade.
Either way, I need to add 300 points, and am trying to decide if I want to keep it as a 100% reserve army. My first inclination is to get another Stormtalon and put a ven. dreadnought in a drop pod. I'm not opposed to buying another kit or two, but if I can keep what I have, that may be even better. I own the following

5 assault terminators, 4 w/ TH/SS
5 tactical terminators, 1 ass.cannon/CML
2 dreadnoughts
2 lascannon marines
4 missile launcher marines
4 CC scouts
Honor Guard
LRC
Commander Dante
Sanguinary Guard
Emperors Champion
some more initiates some boltguns, some chainswords

Remember that you round up when working out how many units you can place in reserve, so if the rest is ignored (due to Pods and Flyer) you could add another unit (such as the assault terminators) in reserve without breaking the rule.

This will leave you immune to alpha-strikes and you could add Locator Beacons to the pods for accurate teleporting.

Another option would be another unit of troops in a drop pod, depending on how you're managing to hold objectives (if you're not having difficulty then add something interesting instead).

Well the games we are playing are from the Altar of War book. So there are actually very few missions that have a bunch of objectives. I was thinking about the squad of terminators and keeping them to deep strike. but that leaves me with like 80 points leftover. I may have some extra points to use from the games I've played so maybe I can squeeze in either another marine pod, a dreadnought pod or that second stormtalon.

Are you allowed to change your list from what you currently have or are you only allowed to make additions?
If you go the Assault Terminator route I'd recommend using some of your leftover points to give digital weapons to all of your characters, and maybe dropping some initiates off your squads to bring in another small unit.
Otherwise I'd recommend your LRC to work as a durable distraction if you don't mind losing your full reserve list. Bringing in the LRC now means you can fit in honor guard or a big CC squad to fill it with in the next update, but by itself the LRC still has good lethality and staying power in these smaller point games.
