So my local GW has a friendly tournament going on, one of my friends absolute crushed me because he sat behind his aegis line with a quad gun and his riptide in a 750 point game. I almost got him, but feel no pain is a ass hole and I already had asked for nuffle's intervention that game for the perfect deep strike.

So what would you guys bring to help take the riptide down?

Riptide, Buffmander, and an ADL at 750 pts? What did he have for troops? Two min FW teams?

Hold your OBJ out of LOS, and drop arty on his troops. He'll have to abandon his gunline and more up to try to table you.

Bring a helhuge platoon and spread out. He won't be able to kill enough.

All in all, i don't see much stuff that can kill a riptide in a 750 game except for a pask punisher + some other tank if you play guards. Basically, the other one should be eradicator to wipe his scoring and markers. If you can't kill something - ignore it. Riptides are a waste vs cheapo stuff like conscripts or guardsmen. So, the best thing possible is just kill the troops and avoid the riptide, i guess.

Wyverns are excellent, since they are barrage weapons, you can snipe the buffmander off his riptide, especially since at 750 he likely won't have the points for Iridium Armour, meaning he is only T4 3+ and you re-roll to wound.

I don't think you've thought this through.

@OP: What's the rest of his list, and what's the gun on the Riptide? There should be some weaknesses you can take advantage of.

To get a reliable LOS Blocker take a Bastion and put a lot of artillery behind it. Get some mid range AP2 weapons if he tries to get close with his riptide to destroy your artillery.

Just one Riptide in a 750pt game? Try facing 3
I guess your best shot is to kill his troops and hide yours out of LOS and pray you survive his missile systems. Depends a lot on the mission and the deployment though.
