So I my flgs we have monthly torments. I don't always win but I enjoy it expect win I have to fight wraith knights because I never can kill them. So I had enough and bought a Imperial Knight to fight all the Mc spam that goes on. Am I a bad person for going and bringing a ally because of riptides and wraith knight spam? Am I no better than those guys?

Welcome to the Arms Race. Now you know how US and Russia and China work now.

Now you know why GW has imbalanced rules and they work the way they do. It sells miniatures. Perfect proof that it works. GW knows it can sell minis this way, and it works.

*edit*

Forgot the smiley face.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

One example does not proof make, Davor. Zengu, it's a game, enjoy it and don't worry about "being a bad person". The only time you have to worry is if you're being an donkey-cave.

It's a nice model.

You could have alternatively gone down the route of Sternguard in a Drop Pod and a bucket-load of meltas for a lower points cost (but not much different) but the Knight is a centerpiece model and looks special - so be happy with it ^^

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

Monthly torments? That's awful!

I see nothing wrong with running allies, as long as you're following the rules.

Yes, you are a bad person.
You are full of Sin and only through Christ you can be saved.
Christ has risen! Truly he has risen!

Happy Easter everyone!

And don't worry, bringing cheese to tournaments is fine. That is what tournaments are for, right? You are supposed to bring the best stuff you can find.
Save the nice fluffy lists for nice fluffy games.

What is the purpose of the tournaments you're playing in? Is it just to win? If that's the only condition, then taking things that makes you more likely to win seems to be the ethical course of action.

Of course, if there are points to the tournament other than winning, the answer might be different. Hence the question that starts this post.

All right. How far are you willing to go to get store credit?

Well when this months pot is rather large. I'm to the point when I see rip tides hiding the whole game or when two wraith knights completely destroy me after I fail to wound them because of the high thoughness I just wanted something that could give me a chance.

Heh, sorry, it was a bit of a trick question.

If what you want is the chance to make some specific-purpose money, then what you want is money, regardless of how bashful you feel about its acquisition.

The question is, why do you think that "could give me" should stand in the way of your objective?

That goes back to the problem either I take the knight and lose to the Mc most of the or I take the knight and crush anyone why does have a knight or mc to give it a run or something else that can a hurt on it.

Well, I don't think it's quite that simple. 40k isn't actually rock paper scissors, as much as people like to complain that it is.

In any case, if what you want is store credit, and the way you get store credit is by winning, then what you want to do is to win.

Do whatever is the most likely to make you win, or change your priorities. As simple as that.

If they have riptides then not at all lol take whatever the hell you like you have the right to bring whatever you feels counters that

In the interest of fun, you might want to sub it out of your list for something else against more friendly guys, just so you don't end up putting them in the situation the Riptide / Wraithknight guys put you in, especially if its bothered you.

At the end of the day you are playing with toy soldiers of your choosing, none of you are bad people, the only bad people in 40k are the ones who go around insinuating people are anything but perfectly ok people based on their choice of unit for their elite slot in a tabletop game with rules that they did not write.

It's beyond ridiculous.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

1 knight is perfectly fine, as are say 2 riptides, helldrakes or wraithknights. It's when you hit 3+ knights, 3+ helldrakes, 4+ riptides or Wraithknights that the game starts getting unglued.

It's fine. I'm even building up a knight army and from what people say I'm far from being a bad person anyways.

It is not the models you have it is your attitude in the game that makes you a bad person or not.
