Hi All,

We have a new site for hosting BattleScribe data files here: http://battlescribedata.appspot.com. We can accept bug reports and updates for the data files right from the site. The data is based on Randomhit's data, so should probably replace any Randomhit repos you currently use (well, choose one or the other).

BattleScribe 1.14.00 added some features which improves support for a wider range of game systems. For example Firestorm Armada can now be much better represented, and we have a nice set of files for it now. If you have data for game systems that we don't have listed at the site above, I'd love to get them hosted with us. Or if you tried to make data for a game and it just wasn't possible, things might be better for you now.

One thing I would greatly appreciate, but suspect would require serious effort/infrastructure at your end, would be a cloud system, so I can create a list on my ipad for the larger screen and comfort thereof, and then still access the same list to edit/refer to, when I'm at my club to play.

Right now, if I create a list on one device that's inspired (a rare event, but still..) I need to transcribe it over or share it around via email etc.. None of which is as easy.

Will check out the new site though!

If we're doing feature requests, I wouldn't mind more options for customizing/ cutting down the Roster Editor output by a whole lot.

Options to hide rules for units (the rule titles listed in italics underneath the unit), hide *all* the header text, hide weapons/equipment line if there are no options selected other than default, remove unneccessary multiple line breaks in BBcode output.

At the moment the output is still very unwieldy and verbose when you just want to show off a list in a forum post, it takes quite a bit of effort to manually trim it down.

For data repositories, yes, I'm talking about rosters, which would likely need usernames and passwords and some sort of cloud sharing infrastructure.

It does that for the data and for rosters. Whenever I save a roster on any of my devices, I can just open it up on another device as it saves it to the cloud, which in this case is Dropbox.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

This, a million times this.

I often times would manually remove the unit entries for my rosters I used just so I could read the things. It's also a big reason why I don't use ArmyBuilder, since it jumbles up the page with far too much unnecessary information.

I just want unit entry, total points cost, and maybe a list of wargear that unit has taken. I don't need the whole statline, and every stat for every weapon. I have the book with me for a reason.

That can be edited in the Catalogue Editor, all that information is included by the user who made the file.

That's what I meant. I'd go into the catalogue editor and delete the profile entries.

Are you saying there's a simple "on/off" type switch that would do that automatically?

Don't suppose anyone could direct me to a decent datafile for Skaven? The one I got from Random Hit is pretty lame. Doesn't give you any info besides that of the model names/special gubbinz.

now I understand what you wanted. And yes you can switch in the view roster window options. (Just click view roster and then layout options.)

That being said I personally prefer a Card like layout, for easy reference with all the units relevant info. Stats Lines, special rules naming and war-gear stats basically.

Aaaah, I didn't realise it worked for rosters too!

Dropbox account now attached, colour me a bunny of the happy variety.

It even triggered some extra free space when I attached it too!

To those asking about the output:

1) You can customize the output (view -> options on desktop, view -> cog icon on mobile). You can exclude rule/profile summaries and can show/hide the points values.

2) This area absolutely needs some love. I'm planning a major overhaul of the output in the near future (not the next update, possibly the one after).

Did you try the data site linked in the first post? The WHFB data has been totally refreshed with data from a guy who's pretty on the ball. If you find any problems with it please raise bugs so we know what to fix

Glad you found it

I guess it's not totally obvious where to link Dropbox!

Hi mate- yes I've just tried again. And I've tried tinkering with the roster display options as well-just unit names and what I've given em.No stats. No rule descriptions. Nada.

What else have I missed?

Ah this information depends on what is inside the file. If the author didn't enter rules or profiles, then you won't see them in the printout. You can have a go at adding this stuff using Catalogue Editor that comes with the desktop version. If you decide to have a go at this then please submit your file here: http://battlescribedata.appspot.com/#/repo/whfb and we'll include your work for everyone to benefit from

**Edit: I have given it up as a bad job. Magically though it seems that someone else has had a crack at it and made a pretty damn good effort!

Question: I made numerous changes to the Beastmen.cat file. I wouldn't be able to submit my updated file to correct all the errors that I'm guessing weren't addressed in the Beastmen.catz file?

Make sure you have Java installed: http://www.java.com

Then download the Mac installer from here: http://battlescribe.net

Your file might not be too far removed from ours, you can try submitting it. If the changes are too widespread we will probably reject it, but worth a shot.
