Hello everyone, new member here. I've been looking at the paint chart and noticed one thing since I'm trying to get all my colors for my space marines in the Vallejo game color range, and I noticed one color not listed in the GW list ... Calgar Blue, and what would the Vallejo equivalent be??? I've done figured out all the other paints that I would need via the chart, but this one I can't seem to find and Google searches don't seem to help either.

I'm also confused on the paint chart, as it is saying that Vallejo's Ultra Marine blue (022) goes with Altdorf Guard blue, but the back of the GW space marine box says it uses Macragge Blue, which the chart says is Vallejo Heavy Blue (143). Is there a reason the blues are different and if so why is the other called Ultramarine blue lol?

Also, I'm curious about a couple things else. For one, where in the heck can I get some of that Vallejo Liquid Gold 792 old gold. I looked for it online and keep getting directed to model color gold...

Lastly, I've heard that GW shader/washes was a lot better than the others and if this is true should I go with those rather than getting the Vallejo equivalents?

Calgar Blue looks like it's a brand new Citadel color rather than a replacement for one of the old ones. It might not have a good Vallejo match.

Vallejo's Ultra Marine Blue is the old Citadel Ultramarine Blue, new Citadel Altdorf Guard. Macragge Blue (old Mordian Blue) is a Base, or Heavy in Vallejo terminology.

Snmstuff.co.uk has all the the Liquid Gold colors, but I believe Model Color 878 Old Gold is the same as Liquid Gold 792 Old Gold.

Vallejo and other brand washes are just as good as new Citadel IMO, though perhaps a little different.

Thanks yeah, they are calling the new Macragge blue the base ultramarine blue, and the Calgar blue as the highlight blue or the blue they use to outline the armor I think because it's called "layer" by GW.

Wonder what would be a good color to replace it on the Vallejo line then?

As far as UK stuff, I like it but honestly being in the states it takes a long time to ship and costly to ship. I was hoping to find some places in the states to get it.

Which link lol there is like 20 of them and no description of the links, just hypertxt lol

also quite a few give 404's. Though one had the vallejo book but it had no color matches to the Calgar Blue. I think it said Model color though had one called Azule that was close I think. Not sure. Might end up trying that out.

The link at the bottom of the page that says it has an equivalency chart for the new Citadel line. Reading is fundamental.

I guess you failed to read the end of my last post. Oh well I'll say it again. Game color via the links and booklets etc say that game color doesn't have a match. Though I might try the model color Azure and see how that works but it's just a different line.

And you didn't read my post. I never said that Vallejo's recommended substitute was a Game Model color.
