Big 3000pts 2v2 game. Khain's eldar and lutnit's farisght enclave vs skimask mohawk's raven guard and my deathwatch (white scars). Played on an 8x4 and decided to setup roads again, they look nice but they're a nightmare for dice. Batrep is in the oven.

That game turned into a disaster lol, we definitely need a house rule for supporting fire because it's actually out of control

It didn't heavily influence the game and the number of times we play 2v2 where the Tau player is actually with a battle brother is pretty rare. Would we also ban psyker powers being cast on friendlies? It's pretty much the same thing.

Great report as usual guys! I am surprised the SR didn't try to down the two crimson hunters, not that it would have changed the outcome, just would have looked awesome ha ha.

Space marines are battle brothers to tau too and myself and ben both usually play them, remember that it just says "friendly" for Supporting Fireso its a pretty broad category. I'd be down for banning all buffing of other's armies with your own since we usually gak on allies anyways; just two independent armies that are fighting against the same enemy/enemies but otherwise don't interact

I agree it didn't do too much in that game but I would agree it's better to do what was done for the last doubles and just make it so all armies are considered seperate, no buffing at all.

Khain made a lot of kink saves that game, we triied downing them but I believe we only did a hull point on each.

We really fethed up doing the raven and that was my fault for sure. I can see it working if we've got some help on the reserve rolls but having to wait half the game for it stung and then to have it get shots down as a massive blow to our side of things.

Great batrep. In many ways you guys are just getting better and better at this. Very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this.

I hope you guys didn't get turned off the stormraven centurions from this. They are actually really good if you death from the skies when you come in. Especially as the stormraven w/ MM usually needs to be the right distance anyways. I never keep my expensive stuff embarked just for what happened in this game. I find that if you do the stormraven is a 400+ pts AV12 flyer then and people arrange to cause it to meet the ground. This time was some really bad luck though.

I am not sure how those waveserpents were so resilient when the CWE player kept firing the serpent shields. Without the downgrade to glance they are just AV12 skimmers. It seemed like the dice were really cold to the SM, was that it?

Have you tried using dedicated transports with the ravenguard chapter tactics. The extra mobility combined with scout makes them a real threat, not to mention outflanking razorbacks do a lot more work than exploded ones.

There is a fun use of predators in the siege assault list from forgeworld where the siege master can give the unit tank hunter and the predators can be taken as a unit. Other than that I have not seen them do much. Probably as SM just aren't good in a stationary gunfight, they don't have the range, numbers, or shenanigans to fight a war of attrition.

He just made a stupid number of 5+ jink saves. And the SM players seemed to always roll a 3 for armour pen with their lascannons against it so it was only taking glances anyway.

It hasn't completely soured me but I can see the value of having a stormtalon escort it on. I gotta get my raven painted.

It was a mix of not always having ideal targets due to los blockers, not rolling too well and even after firing his shields khain still had cover, and sometimes when it was a ruin it was a 3+ because he chose the conqueror of cities trait.

Centurions are pretty disgusting, especially if you get enough ability to tank wounds.

You do. I am a big fan of the stormraven. Flying MM is just so incredible and AV12 rear is far more useful than people give credit for.

Right on, that explains a lot. It happens and with the ruins you guys use conqueror of cities could be really powerful.

Is it that he hates vehicles or does he hate himself? I have played around with a ravenguard rhino rush with TAC marines. It is a pretty great army actually and is extremely dynamic engaging the opponent full on turn 1 is great. The scout spam style army is also pretty great (just not as awesome with ravenguard CTs, IF, IH, WS, and Salamanders are all just more interesting and better)

Centurions are awesome. The grav variant is excellent with any CT and only become better and better the more you solve the durability and mobility issues. The LC/ML variant are really nasty with the IF CT but without tank hunter their durability and firepower per point is pretty low to compete with AM, Tau, and CWE which are all excellent at gunline play style. This is exacerbated by the fact that there are only 3 HS slots, though I will agree if you wanted to run a gunline with SM (why, why do you want this?) IF centurions or IH tanks seem like the way to go.

I hate tanks actually; the only one I have is the stalker. I have a couple of dreadnoughts, a storm raven, a storm talon and a land speeder storm, but normal tanks can all go suck a dick lol

Well against you I'd definitely want to get some Pathfinders painted up to remove your cover saves. Doesn't stop the serpent shields but if you shoot them, you're defenseless.

Problem with the pathfinders is that they are easy to wipe out or break, so yeah not too worried about them because it means less suits.

If he keeps deep striking half the suits, provided he rolls a lot of 3's come turn two I can see players being too caught up to fire on the pathfinders. Pathfinders with good height and visibility can be pretty annoying, Lutnit adding some cover denial to his enclave army will be cool to see. I think once he gets longstrike rockin too it will be quite scary.
