Ok, I'm trying to get into FTB. I've downloaded the proper mods and the launcher, but whenever I click the Launch button I get a "Could not create the Java virtual machine" error.

Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

Have you tried to increase (or decrease) the available memory in the options tab of the launcher?

Edit: You might also want to check the java version (i would recommend a recent java7) and more specifically if your java and OS are both 64bit.

Use this to remove any out of date versions of Java, it might help, but even if it doesn't it won't hurt.

If that doesn't work you can install MC forge in regular MC and copy the mods, ect. in. It doesn't update automatically, but it works.

Downloading, or trying to download, the most up to date version of Java. But I've downloaded it twice and it opens the browser to confirm it or something but then nothing happens and I have to start over.

I click Agree and Continue but nothing happens. It gives me the options More Information or Download Java.

Unsure which one I should do.


Edit: never mind, stuff happened. Works now. Java is now fully updated.

Reedit: Never never mind. Now something else is going on. It has a normal window for minecraft that first shows the FTB letters but then goes completely black and does nothing.

The Console is reading the following error in red. At the bottom of a large block of red text.

Unhandled error launching minecraft: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
