So one of our studio painters, after many months of hint dropping, has gotten a few of us playing malifaux, and I have to say i have rather enjoyed it so far, the quality of the new plastic miniatures is actually quite special, are very interesting to paint, especially for myself as they are generally far removed from my normal brush style.

Torn between a few of the factions I decided upon picking up Viktorias in the form of the hired swords started box, as well as an old metal version of taelor as it was the only model in the set I wasn't too keen on largely due to the pose.

First job for me is often basing, as I rather enjoy a good base to frame the miniatures with;

Ive gone for a badlands feel, and had a play with the fairly recently release GW technical agrellan earth paint, and found myself actually rather liking it.

The old taelor model got a few minor updates, mainly the derpy looking old hammer replaced with the head from the newer version, as well as the rather cool looking straps around her waste. All the models have been primed with tamiya fine white spray (thanks to Dave from hawk wargames for this hidden treasure) which has a ridiculously smooth coverage ideal for high standard paintwork.

Last up is a WiP of Viktoria of ash, the crews leader. The goal with the paintjob is to really push myself and learn as much as possible. So far she is mostly just basecoats at the moment, with the face almost finished and some extra work on the coat.

Comments and criticisms more than welcome.

The bases look great.

The whole model is really well done but the eye of the model is what catches my eye.
It is extremely well done...almost looks like you added some eye shadow.

Great job!

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks guys, the eye kinda caught my attention as well as Ive noticed an imperfection in it which i have now corrected; a tiny white spot under the pupil which looks out of place. Its always interesting to see your work blown up far larger than it was ever meant to be seen!

Hey again guys

So being as my viktorias are going to take a long time to paint as im going to try my damned hardest with them I decided to pick up a 2nd crew at salute with the intent of giving them a much quicker paintjob for the gaming tables. So heres the start of my Hamelin crew;

Im waiting on painting hamelin as I'm not keen on the model and know someone with the hame;in avatar model going spare, which is much cooler.
