So I just won an imperial knight in a raffle and my only imperial army is grey knights.

While this bodes for a very elitist list with few models...it's what I got.

Any tactics or weapon choice advice for me?

Get another one. One knight is asking to just get focused down.

Failing that, do NOT stand near it. The desire to support it with troops needs to be curbed with the knowledge that when it blows up, it's going to blow up BIG.

The second list has a grey knight with imperial knight and short battle report. Since then the brotherhood champion has been switched out for a bastion with icarus manned by a soladin.

Got this knight for free...definitely not going to pay for one...and doubt a Gk list has points for two.

Egorey's list is hella elitist, like...woah.

You guys think the melts cannon suits grey knights better?...with limited tank busting abilities.

Thinking about running 2 -3 dread knights with the knight...if only for showcasing

I'm thinking on using Intercepters and Strikes to bubble wrap my Knights with Warp Quake while the Knights run amuck. Might drop my Mordrak Bomb for a Inquisitor with skulls, and try to fit in a bastion with a Quad cannon.

Paint it grey as a stealth pun that will make your enemies groan to death when they figure it out.

I was waiting for you.

5 Strikes in the Bastion, 10 Psybolt Interceptors, 2 Shunting Dreads with Incinerators and I really do want a Grand Master somewhere.

First list building ideas I was coming up with.

You think the Melta Cannon is better or the Rapid Fire Battle Cannon?

Melta Cannon is S9 and both are large blasts.

In this list, Melta Cannon is the better option because your goal is to crush the hard stuff while the shunting units deal with the soft stuff and the things that need tying up.

Mordrak is my go-to GM for this style of list, yet you will need to save points to fit everything in, do might choose a generic GM instead.

I think I am going to surround him with Dreadknights...going to do triple DK on my first go with him. Will comment with list once I have one.

Thinking about taking this to an upcoming game at 2500 points...and adding Mordrak and Ghosties.

I like running the battle cannon on mine. Its still effective against vehicles due to the ordinance rule.

My GKs all carry an AP3 weapon...and as the melta cannon is equally effective against armor...I needed something that cuts through a 2+.

My feelings exactly. Also, the Battle Cannon encourages trading shots at range, while the Melta Cannon encourages getting close. Getting close is where you want to be when supporting a mid-range/CC oriented army like the Grey Knights.

And what exactly is this AP3 weapon that GK's can use that you speak of? Unless you're referring to swords...

And how often do you get into assault in 6th?

Maybe you're having better luck than me, my strikes usually dont survive trying to get into melee

Though the battlecannon doesnt keep you from moving up, fire at stuff and stubber other things to charge

When you're looking at Grey Knights...you really just need something that can kill Broadsides and Centurions...and the Melta Cannon can do that, while the battle cannon just gets shrugged off.

That's what it came down to for me.

To this point...you might want to play with deepstriking a bit more. I personally find that Grey Knights do better when played using Daemon tactics.

To each their own. A competitive list will use as much shunting as possible.

Unless you take a competitive list containing 10 man GKSS with duel psycannons in rhinos *6 then throw in DKs.

Devestating Grey Knight Dreadknight

Why not go ahead and take 2 knights? You can easily fit 3 kitted dreadknights+2 knights in a 2K list, and still have room for coteaz+a few henchmen and Modrak+ghosts to drop in and make some of the dreadknights scoring, giving you 6 deadly units that can assault on turn 2. With a 12" move and high strength low AP weapons, knights are a great compliment to a shunt list. I've yet to get a game in with the above list, but if/when I do I'll let my fellow shunters know how it goes.

Also, I posted it in army lists a while back but if you want to just go all out for the table you can take coteaz, 2 barebones acolyte squads and have room for 3 shunting+flaming DKs and 3 imperial knights. That's a monster mash list a daemon or nid player would be jealous of.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

And I'd have to take henchmen...which is bland
