Just asking because I made all mine myself, have no idea what does not have a model I.E. what is almost certain to be gone with the implementation of the next codex?

Also, how long till next codex? Here's to hoping it takes forever again.

Sliscus, Malys, Sythorax, don't have models, or the Voidraven bomber. Think that's it.

Voidraven easily shares a model with the Razorwing I doubt they'll drop it.

Although I guess the same could have been said about Doom and Zoanthropes :(



Not my Dukeeeeeee :( Thats really disappointing if the case, I love my Duke in both the terms of my model and gameplay wise.

Voidraven is a bit bigger according to the fluff, a friend of mine made a great conversion from 2 Razorwings.

Vect has no model on foot, also the Mandrake char is model-less

this was a Malys conversion I made for someone:

Dr.Bizzar, how dare you? I am sure he would have your tongue for getting the Supreme Overlord Vect himself! Malys doesn't have a model but she is very easy to do, there is a Vampire Countess that even has a steel fan for feth's sake! The Duke doesn't but he is just begging to be made out of a Dark Eld Corsair model, the Baron doesn't take much conversion over a normal Hellion, i just gave mine a cape and added extra knife wings to the skybord from the Reaver kit. The Void Raven is simply a Razorwing, didn;t bother converting it and no even notices.

As for dropping models? I honestly don't think they will drop any, i would say they will drop 1. Not sure who, but 1 out of the Duke, the Baron and the Lady (just noticed they are all named after Highborn names!). All of them would be easy to mold for GW, but i think they would only bother with 2 because lord knows they will make a nice Vect as well.

Sathonyx doesn't have a model right now either. Neither Vect nor Kheradruakh have models (current ones, at any rate, at least according to the GW webstore). With so little that is missing from the 'dex, unit-wise, I'm really hoping that GW just makes minis for those selections rather than eliminating them.

Same here. I am really hoping for some kind of Vect vehicle box that comes with the Dias of Destruction along with a mounted and foot version of Vect.

A Baron/Beastmaster plastic clamshell would be cool too, but that doesn't seem realistic.

...are we expecting a new DE codex sometime soon? Gosh I hope not. Let them do Space Puppies and Blood Angels first. And Orks. And hell, give bugs another shot. I'm not so sure we really need one, and I'm also not so sure it would be a good thing...

Agreed. Even before there was a risk of LOSING models with an update, I was hoping we didn't get an update.

We have an almost perfectly balanced codex, almost every unit is playable, and we are not an OP dex. Intereaction with Eldar can put us into top tier, but all things considered, we have a great codex.

Any changes are unlikely to do much good. Quite unfortunate. Assaulting out of WWP's would be nice but that's unlikely. Mandrakes are not great. Other than that, I have nothing to complain about.

Too right! (Wracks, myself.) But I don't think I'm willing to gamble a codex that is working well in order to fix one or two units that aren't. (The Court of the Archon can definitely go on that list too, lol.)

Void Raven has had a kit designed by Jes for a long time now. Saw the concept art for it a while back, along with the Sslyth and Lahamenians. Two of those got released, still waiting for the bomber.

So there's no real threat of a DE 'dex anytime soon?

Given that they STILL haven't released Orks (yeah, i'm bitter ) i doubt it.

They spend most of their time throwing IOM crap at the wall.

DE waited a decade + for the last one, so i doubt we'll see a new one any time soon.

Mandrakes. What else would they count as?

I could see them as repping for allied Striking Scorpions though...

It's a bad state of affairs when absolutely NOBODY is actually looking forward to publishing of the DE codex.

I think it's hard to expect an improvement though to be honest. From what I've seen from other recent releases, I hope it never comes. Probably won't, DE are a pretty unpopular army and there is little money in updating them. I'm all but ok with us becoming sisters tier and left as is. There will come a time when I feel differently am sure... I don't see it being anytime soon though.

I know more DE players that GK players, Space Wolf players, Dark Angel players, or Blood Angel players. I think the longevity of the 'dex, coupled with the great new mini line, has been steadily growing the Dark Eldar fanbase for a while. Of course, I have no real idea of GW sales specifics, so that's just spitballing.

Nevertheless, I would, as a company, think it was actually a good sign that people were satisfied with my product to the point that they didn't want a new, shinier one. Especially given the cyclical, more-more-more approach that some take to the game.

'Course, that's just me.

Alas, it seems like "credible" rumors (Natfka) have surfaced regarding a new DE codex.
