I don't know if this has been covered at all, so I think I shall...

Given that the INQ codex states that an inquisitorial detachment may be taken as a primary detachment, and as an extra allied detachment, and that is it battle brothers with the Imperial Guard (sod the Astra Militarum), and that the ABG list states that it counts as the IG for allies purposes, my idea is that it should be possible to have a list of both ABG and Inquisitoial forces that can be taken as-is (with the INQ force being the primary detachment), or taken as an allied force to, say, the spess muhreens without changing a single point's worth in the list.

The result looks like this:

Spoiler:

Inquisitor Kavaroth's 1st Requisition [749 pts]:

Primary Detachment [Inquisitorial Detachment]:

HQ:
-Ordo Malleus Inquisitor w/Pwr Armour, Pwr Fist, Combi-Melta, Psybolt Ammo, Mastery 1 [93 pts]

Elites:
-Acolytes x7 w/Carapace Armour x7, Hot-shot lasgun x7, Meltabomb x1 [93 pts]

Transport:
-Chimera [55 pts]

Primary Detachment [293rd Landsharks Tank Company]:

HQ:
-Leman Russ Exterminator CCT w/Artificer Hull, Lascannon, HB Sponsons [215 pts]

Troops:
-Leman Russ Executioner w/HB Sponsons [160 pts]

Fast Attack:
-Vendetta [130 pts]

Any thoughts?

I thought both Primary detachments had to be from the same codex (p110)

As a standalone force, the INQ takes primary, and ABG is the secondary. When taken as allies, some other army is the primary detachment, and both of these are allies.

EDIT: Just noticed my mistake.

By secondary, I meant allied. That's what I get for not reading 40k stuff for several months.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Note, I seem to have also misread the ABG rules for siege tanks, which have a line stating that my executioner is another 50 points more expensive than I thought.

So that'll be an 800 point force for now.
