So quarriors is one of the fave games in my house, and I just discovered that dice masters is a thing.
Apparently, however, wiz kids has fethed up distribution of it, making it impossible to get starters.
Anyone on dakka see a copy at an LGS or local target? I'd love to get it but don't really want to pay the eBay prices.

A friend of mine kept going on about how he was able to get a starter at Walmart*, which initially made no sense to me as to what the big deal was. He then explained about how getting the dice you needed to play was almost impossible due to some screwup in the way dice were allocated, and that they were going on ebay for four or five times the MSRP. After that he started talking about the rules of the game so I stopped paying attention.
*It was Walmart or Meijer, but I am pretty sure he said Walmart.

BoardGameGeek has more info but: * Some Walmart stores got them, some don't. Because Walmart internal distribution. * Stuff's sold out and it takes a long time to make these dice. * Stuff's sold out because the starters are $15 and *it's collectible*. * Quality is out the window, usually with the inking of the dice. Cheap, fast, good, pick two. I'll wait. Too many other games to play in the closet!

Just the starters are sold out....
You might be able to get a starter second hand in a few weeks once people relize that their isn't much reason to own more then one starter set.

The only people getting multiple starters are most likely trying to sell them on eBay for inflated prices. The problem is more that most can't get one starter because of logistical and shipping snafus. You can get expansions all day, but the base dice needed to play the game are in the starter, not any of the expansions, which is a problem when you can't get a starter.
To put it in MtG terms, only the starters have Land cards, which you have to have to play, but there are no starters available to purchase. This causes frustration in the gaming base. Or maybe in 40k terms you can get Codexes but not the core rulebook.

For me the appeal is two fold... 1 - It has dice and 2 - It scratches my CCG itch while being relativly inexpensive. You can get a booster box for $47 pretty commonly. Automatically Appended Next Post: Yes it is Kronk.
If anyone is looking to trade I can send you what I'm looking for/have avalible for trade.

Was looking at a card/dice list on BGG and did they seriously make a Avengers vs. Xmen themed set and not include major characters from the AvX storyline? There's no Hope die. That's like making a Civil War set and leaving out Captain America and Iron Man.
I mean, if it was DC I'd fully expect "Batman, Superman, bunch of Batman villains, maybe Green Lantern" but Marvel is generally better about this kind of thing.

Hope Summers is the granddaughter of Cyclops and Jean Grey, daughter of Cable.
She was the first mutant born after Scarlet Witch said "No more Mutants" and removed the powers from all but 200 or so mutants in the entire world. Cyclops believes her to be the mutant messiah, as she can unlock mutant powers in people just starting to manifest them as well as mimic/copy other mutants powers.

That doesn't surprise me. The Yu-Gi-Oh set for HeroClix has a large set but a small distribution (55 figures in a 24 count box) and Dice Masters has like 60 packs to a box with what, 150 different cards? I could see WizKids not providing too many doubles in a pack, because they don't really need the redundancy that you find with other WK! games.

To bad you didn't pull him a few weeks ago when he was going for more then $50. From a collectors stand point I'm really glad to be seeing the prices drop although Super Rares still tend to go for $30ish.
I've opened two full booster boxes and have seen 3 more opened in front of me and I've yet to see a Super Rare....
As for what I want.
- Ironman: Billionaire
- Black Widow: Tsarina
- Cyclops: Scott Summers
- Deadpool: Chiyonosake
- Green Goblin: Norman Osborn
- Green Goblin: Gobby
- Loki: Gem Keeper
- Mr. Fantastic: Elastic
- Nick Fury: Patch
- Night Crawler: Circus Freak
- Rogue: Can't Touch This
- Venom: Angelo Fortunato
- War Machine: James Rhodes
- Wolverine: Canucklehead
- Mjolnir: Thor's Hammer
- Vibranium Shield: Cap's Protection
I've got pretty much everything else avalible in trade. If you interested make me an offer.

Yes, but I don't think it was supposed to be... Initally I had heard that they were aiming for a 1.1+ Super Rare per box rate, for whatever reason though that didn't happen.

WizKids has announced a new Rainbow Draft format for Dice Masters organized play, and has provided an update on restocks for its Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men collectible dice game (see "'Marvel Dice Masters' News").
WizKids has been sold out of the first Dice Masters release since it shipped, of course, but it is trying to find ways to support the product as resupply arrives. "While it’s difficult to discuss in-store play programs when there isn’t enough product," the company said, "we want to reinforce that we are in this for the long term and as such we’re looking ahead to when supply issues will be behind us."
The Rainbow Draft format, the new Dice Masters sealed booster in-store play program, has downloadable directions, and while it doesn’t replace previous formats, WizKids does tout it as something customers will probably prefer. This program is separate from the Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men storyline organized play, which began earlier this month.
WizKids also shared updated information on the status of imminent and future reprints. Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men Starters are arriving this week, with plans to start shipping orders late next week. A shipment of Gravity Feed Boosters is expected in late July, and there’s a previously scheduled wave of Starters and Boosters that’s expected to arrive in late August. A recent ramping up of production capacity has allowed another reprint of product to be added to the schedule, with expected shipment in September.
Two issues that can affect arrival dates to U.S. retailers are related to getting incoming shipments from Chinese manufacturers onto trucks and delivered to distributor warehouses once they arrive in the U.S. Increased screening of games and toys containers by the U.S. Customs office in an effort to stop licensed product counterfeiters can impose unpredictable delays on release from the U.S. port, and a potential longshoremen’s strike would, of course, have substantial impacts if it occurs.
WizKids does plan some changes to product configuration for future sets. Beginning with Marvel Dice Masters: The Uncanny X-Men, the Gravity Feed will be moved to a HeroClix size, which will hold 90 booster packs. The insertion rate will also be tweaked to target one or more Super Rares per Gravity Feed, although the company does not guarantee collation.

I know that The Guild House in los Angeles will be hosting some Dice Masters events once we get the new starter sets in. Currently, we have boosters and everyone who as come in for DM, has bought so many boosters to create a starter set. The new sets should be coming in end of August/ start of September.

In Marvel, you get to keep the unspent dice to roll again on your next turn with your new "hand" of dice, but I don't recall that in Quarriors. Honestly, I have only played each game 2-3 times, but they are bascially the same game.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but my friend and I are having an argument on the rare Pyro: he claims that even if multiple rare Pyros attack, only the first one gets the ability, as the 'used' pile is now "in transit", after the first uses it. Near as I can tell, the transit rule applies only to dice used to buy other dice. I've pointed that out in FAQs, as well as the official FAQ stating that if you have multiple of the same character attacking, the effect is used by each die. But he's unwilling to back down and asked for a community ruling. Unfortunately, he's admitted he likes to argue even when he knows he's wrong, just to have an argument, which I feel is likely to be the case here. So...gimme an answer, players. Am I right that Pyro: Uncontrolled rolls dice from the used pile for each pyro attacking? Not just "first one rolls, and even though Pyro states they all go immediately back to the used pile, they are unable to be rolled by all the other Pyros"? And yes, I'm kinda just asking for validation on something that the rulebook and FAQs state are correct.
