Just a thought, as High Chaplain Astorath would have to put down those with the Black Rage…but does he work alone? If he was just doing clean up for the Blood Angels alone I'd buy that, but I thought I read somewhere he handles the BAs and all the successor chapters. And just how good is he in combat (fluff wise)? Imagine if he had to take down Tycho, or Master Seth…or a rampaging Dreadnought (Moriar *cough*). Certainly should be better than being stuck with an Unwieldy Axe <_< (stupid 6th ed nerf)….

Mixing game rules and fluff is never a wise choice...
Assuming that more often than not the Death Company die in battle, it's likely that he's able to handle it for a few thousand marines alone. There was also a short story that seemed to indicate he arrived well after the battle, as long as nothing was alive it wouldn't be an issue to leave them alone for awhile.

Astaroth (and, if I recall correctly, all of his predecessors. It seems tha the Blood Angels are always blessed with one guy who has this ability at all times for reasons they don't know... if I recall correctly) has a supernatural ability to detect when a Blood Angel or its successor chapter members are going to fall to the Black Rage. This detection spans practically the entire galaxy or something, so he's able to cruise around as needed to get where he goes and probably get there before the Black Rage victim becomes too uncontrollable..
...presumably he also gets really lucky with warp travel times or something.

I'd imagine he uses the proper help for such tasks. The DC dread fluff even mentions how one might rampage across the battlefield for days after the battle is over, until the techmarines manage to capture it.

I just got a brilliant image of Dreadnaught wobbling its way across a field with about 10 techmarines chasing after it with assorted grabbing gear

What happens if Astorath falls to the Black Rage? Can he foresee it happening to himself and then cut his own head off? Being that is probably a form of heresy, who the hell deals with him? Or if Dante starts showing signs? Where was Astorath when Mephiston fell to the Black Rage a second time? Was he like "Noooope. Not even dealing with that..."

Kill him and hope a new redeemer pops up eventually (which so far has always happened, to my knowledge. Astaroth isn't the first)

Ok, well then what happens if a Brother who has fallen to the Black Rage kills Astorath? I know that Asty isn't the firsts (nor will he be the last) but I'm curious as to who takes over as high chaplain if he is gakked. Does the high chaplain absolutely have to have Astorath's ability to foresee the Black Rage?
