Cheers Cam, I think the tabard could be a bit sharper, especially on the part that sags towards the top near the 'belt buckle'.

Sorry youwashock, I completely forgot about your question regarding paint! The plan was white armour with red and black markings (pretty much White Scar colours to be fair). Hoping that the additional details such as feathers etc will set him apart from the sons of the Khan!

I'm in need of a bit of inspiration on what else I can do to modify this dude to fit the theme I have chosen... A friend of mine suggested that I make a dream catcher Iron Halo which is a pretty cool idea given that they were intended to protect against evil spirits and what-not. Getting the aesthetic right will prove tricky though...

I've also been sculpting some feathers to adorn the tomahawk and for a cord around his gorget.

Any other suggestions? Don't want to go bonkers...

Bear claw necklace? Any sort of animal totem items, really. Bones, claws, icons.

Decided to stick a feather on the haft of the hawk. Looks alright in place. Just needs to have the binding sculpted over and it'll be alright.



Next up is to sculpt a tooth/claw necklace as youwashock suggested.

Looking forward to seeing this complete, it's a really unique aesthetic to go for on Marines (especially since Deathwing abandoned it) and the conversion/sculpting is looking great so far.

I decided against any additional gubbinz and to let the paint job do the talking. However, I've managed to lose the plunger spring in my airbrush while cleaning it so I'll have to wait until the new one I ordered is delivered :(

Cheers Cam! I've started painting his head but unfortunately I can't take good pictures of it for love nor money! I might have to borrow the wife's DSLR and try (or better yet, borrow the wife since she knows the sorcery of taking decent photos).

I'm hoping that he'll be done by the deadline of the monthly Dakka painting competition but finishing on time all depends on when the replacement spring for my airbrush turns up (it got dispatched today, so Tuesday maybe?).

I had planned on doing some tricky nonsense involving a bloody hand print on his armour, as if someone had attempted to stop him from dismembering them. Or something. I'd like to do a Killteam of these dudes so adding elements to tell a story really appeals to me.

I'm also wondering if I should have sculpted some extra details on him instead of rushing to get him painted...

Ah well, such is life!

Having a deadline plus tentative plans for more all means it should be ok to not go all in on this guy, detail-wise. But I am going to want a bear-claw necklace next time...

Subscribed. Nice job on the Amulius conversion. I like how you sculpted the head. I'm working on an Amulius conversion myself for my custom chapter and chickened out on getting a totally unique head as I don't have the sculpting skills myself.

Can't get a decent image of his face but it's done. Just working on the leather areas at the moment before I move onto the symbols and other fiddly bits (oh aye, and his left arm!).

I like the chips/weathering you've added to the model. Regardless of whether you make the monthly painting competition deadline (that's how I found your pic/thread), you'll still have a very nice model in a few days.

Hmmmm. Looks like they have a warmer cast for some reason. Still looks good. The Mark X armor has great lines. Fingers crossed for a finish at the 11th hour.

Well, I failed miserably at getting the Primaris fished for the competition. But, now that there isn't any pressure on, I can get him finished at a more leisurely pace and hourly do a better job than I otherwise would have achieved.

Also, I'm eyeing up some Vanguard sprues on ebay which aren't that ridiculous in price. I really like the new Primaris dudes but those Suppressors will need to be modified to make them less, eh, lame.

I've decided I'd like to do some freehand on the sarcophagus so I've been sketching out an idea...

Got a bit more done on the Leviathan.





Not sure I've got it in me to paint the freehand on the sarcophagus. Phosphex warheads will eventually be a light green colour to resemble white phosphorus rounds.

Awesome looking bot, but that base is a star all on its own. Love the leaves and the tucked-away skulls.
