Thank you!

We did not use BA but Battlegroup Overlord. We wanted something that played as fast, but gave a historic feel.

Great stuff. Been waiting on a copy of overlord for awhile. Ready to post up some stuff as well.

Really like the panther btw.

Thanks!

Hope you copy will arrive soon. With every single game we play I fall more in love with the rules!

down south

Great setup there! That river and bridge is awesome. Tank commander found a good spot for that panther

What are you using for that p-51 it looks like some sort of adjustable telescopic stand?

Thank you, Jedi!

The bridge is actually scratch build from pink foam.

That Panther really had a top spot. I think that when I had created the forces I felt, that the Germans had a huge disadvantage and subconsciously did them a slight favour with this firing position... and paid dearly for it! :-D

The Mustang is 1:48th scale kit, I think from
Revel. After assembly I balanced it (like any fighter aircraft or chopper) to find the center of gravity. I drilled into the model there and glued an aluminium rod, cut to length, in. This rod takes the upper end of an old fashioned radio antenna. Not sure if you can still get them these days, but about 7 or 8 years ago I got them for a Euro each at a hobby electronics store. The antennae are fitted to a wooden base to give them weight. I never liked that solution, since their footprint is too large for my taste (roughly 8cm x 8cm) and being wood they stand out. I recently saw that you can get acrylic glass cut to virtually any desired size and in virtually any strength cheap off eBay, so these will probably be replaced soon.

The antennae allow the model to be placed at virtually any hight between 10cm and 1 meter and even take heavier models like my modern choppers without falling over.

Same with us. We have been kinda winging it with a borrowed copy of Kursk and some guesstimating on unit composition between a TOE platoon of paras and panzergrenadiers so we haven't even starting using vehicles yet. But that's about to change when my buddy brings by overlord in the next 30 min

Do you post on guild war gamers? Im starting to pop in over there more frequently, but I'd still like to see Battlegroup start getting the love it needs on Dakka.

I imagine guesstimating the late war settings with just the Kursk book would be hard, but you have that covered now. And the Overlord book is a great one. I guess no other contains as much info!

I usually post on a number of fora. I guess it might seem a bit excessive, but I want to spread the word around. So The Guild and DakkaDakka, both see me posting AARs and other stuff.
