Now that I have used the title of this topic as a clever ruse to lure you in, you are probably wondering where the giant space-monkey is!

He's probably in an inquisition army, but I still have my rez orb, luckily.

Anyway, I'm new to Dakkadakka. New-ish to playing 40K, newer even to playing WHFB, and EVEN newer to playing infinity. Considering the fact that I'm considerably indecisive and was hoping to use Dakka and it's (hopefully) friendly members for advice, pointers and tips, I would uh.. like some advice, pointers and tips on Dakkadakka and it's most important rules that I might have glanced over. And any other advice that people might want to share! Really I just want to throw a topic shaped ball into this place and see how far it rolls, because it's probably been over 10+ years since I used a forum.

Why thank you. Yeah, I'm a necron player. Also building an inquisition + AM army atm, and a chaos player in fantasy. Still not sure what second army i want for fantasy.

Would you also mind telling me how to make that Dakkacode like in your signature?

Necron army here as well but also getting Dark Eldar, CSM and Daemons (Khorne so far only)

I'm getting my friend to build a Deldar army for 40K and daemons for fantasy. Not big on MEQ other than Necrons, but they're unique enough that I don't mind.

By fun you mean insanely easy? Nah, I jest, you can make some pretty neat looking and complicated to paint necrons. But I've seen my fair share of leadbelcher necrons, dipped in agrax earthshade. Tbf, it doesn't look bad actually, but I feel bad if I don't put a good amount of effort into my 'crons.

Hehe.... I like it that their torsos and limbs are easy to paint. It gives me more time to focus on the details and blending for effects. And conversions. basing, magnetizing! I'm having fun doing scarab bases right now.

I only just got wise to the whole magnetizing thing... that is after building this here army. Doh. Would have been nice to exchange the Ghost ark for a doomsday ark but oh hey, that's a lesson for the future. (not pictured is my brand new nightbringer).

Yes, I will be painting my army very soon, I just got so many models that I had no time to paint them all, so I barely painted any single one

Here's my first ever painted miniature btw. By first ever I mean after I got my own paint, brush and miniature. I only painted one before that, and it was with terrible paint and a terrible brush. That's the colour scheme for all of my necron units as well. I'm going to give my vehichles and canoptek everythings a scheme based off of that, but with either inverted or lighter/darker colours.

Nice army! Probably 2-3 times the size that I have.

Was the paint scheme Novokh Dynasty or something you put together?

It was based loosely off of the Necrons of Lorn V, which can be found in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. I very much liked the combination of dark metallic greys and bronze highlights. Gave me the inspiration to paint my first immortal. But I didn't like the whole "fully bronze face" so I changed that. The faceplate is now a lighter bronze than the dark grey in that picture, and I of course coloured the wires. I apparently linked to the last work in progress photo before I finished it, my sorry about that.

Your title is fine, although your necrons have overlsept a bit in just getting onto Dakka now . Welcome aboard!
