The question is preference, pretending the rest of the codexes in question don't exist.

My understanding is DP's take daemon artifacts, CMDP's take marine artifacts.

Which one do you guys like better and why? Once again, how they interact with the rest of the codex isnt important to me.

I much prefer the Codex Daemons versions as there's much greater room for customisation through the basic upgrades + Rewards tables to roll on.

The Black Mace Prince is about as good as it gets for CSM's.

For about 250'ish pts though, I can take a CD Prince w/Daemon of Khorne + Wings + Armour + the Eternal Beatstick for a true combat monster that hits as max WS/I with S8 on the charge!
Or else I can get a Slaany Prince with a S6/assault 2D6 'gun', plus another Gift or two and/or Biomancy/Telepathy
Or maybe a Tzeentch Prince with S8 'Bangstick of Tzeentch' plus the Grimoire.

Just too much fun to be had playing around with the various Rewards possibilities.

How about 'Random Fireworks Factory of Tzeentch' then? One would assume that those extra booms will at least come rainbow coloured for added popcorn appeal...

I was really thinking of making a really colorful LoC kind of like a bird of paradise. Primarily wing color of course! The boomstick is far too inspiring and it just helps with the Lord's description of being like a small child those devious pranksters and planners

But yeah, I'd have to go for Chaos Daemon Princes only because of the amount of choices you get. You can go to boss killer to mob crusher to AA to dakkafun with little difficulty. Plus, you don't have to spend one of your psyker charges on a crummy table!

Flying CD Nurgle Prince with Balesword 4lyfe.

Someone told me that the CSM Prince of Khorne is a daemon of khorne and so doesn't have the mark, meaning he cannot take the axe which requires the mark.

Since your using the axe... you found some way around this foolishness?

It was FAQ'd, luckily anyway.

I would say the CD one is better, especially if you want it to be a psyker. Silly GW forcing CSM models to roll on the god's powers tables. Plus the CD weapons are so much better. Boomstick of Tzeentch is utter awesome.

Codex: Daemons for sure, stick of change is hilarious and lash is amazing. Greater rewards are also pretty awesome.
