Erm, I mean, For The Patriarch!

After about 19 years since I last had a force, I finally gave in and started another Genestealer Cult. For rules, I mostly use Imperial Guard Astra Militarum. It covers the Brood Brothers and Hybrids , as well as the mix of civilian and military vehicles. I must be one of the few gamers who likes the Taurox. I do have some stealers and both the old Patriarch models (somehow forgot to take pictures of them, I'll put the m up next time), but aside of friends letting me throw them in as allies (largely because they suck in 6th), it'll be tough to inject some stealery stuff into the theme. It's a bit difficult at the moment for people to not see them as traitor chaos guard on first glance.

Anyway time for pictures. I'm sorry about the low quality pics, but these were taken on my phone. I'm currently trying to ressurect my old digicam. I promise my next pictures will be better once I get my beloved macro function back.

Russes (Executioner, Exterminator and Battle Tank)





Still some work to do. Tempted to have the Exterminator still as new, as if it was stolen fresh from the factory. With the Battle Tank I know reversed tracks ate a horrendous sin, but this is a salvaged second hand wreck.

I bought some Ogryns to go with my Ecclesiastical Guard (my sister's ally), and I plan to use maul bullgryns. But the shields were going spare, so here's a bullgryn concept, what do you think?

With the latter one, I'm going to twist the hand so he's reaching down, and I'm going to try fancy lighting effects, probably with a ominous tri-claw shadow behind him. Might be beyond my abilities.

I see the pics as well . I've been painting my space hulk genestealers this week along with the battle for maccragge nids stuff. I was hoping there were decent rules for the cult, but I guess GW is passing on that too. Can't wait to see more.

Always love Genestealer Cult logs. The prevalence of converted Chaos Cultists is great.

What I do for my Genestealer Cult lists is add an Inquisition detachment. You can kit out Inquisitors with all sorts of close-combat options to play as Patriarchs or Broodlords, and take units of Death Cult Assassins using Genestealer models. It's a really simple way to make a game-legal list that incorporates Genestealers alongside Guardsmen.
