I stumbled upon this official looking site the other day that had rule inserts you can print out and add to the general rulebook and the codex's. Can't remember where I found them at and am currently at work so I can't look up my browsing history.

From what I recall the site listed all the armies and had little info updates, for example, the DA one had an update to Azrael's wargear and other lil mini changes. Wanted to print them out but like I said, have no idea where I found them and have been looking but to no avail.

They hid the link for the FAQs pretty well.

When on the Blacklibrary.com site, click on the link for Games Workshop Digital Editions. You'll see a link from there for FAQs.

It used to be on the GW site.

Why the change?

Not sure if serious... There was a website revamp a little while back that involved moving them over to Black Library.

But still, why the change?

I mean, I get that people can just google 40k FAQs, but I think many are still in the habit of going to the GW website for gaming-related material.

The GW site is a storefront now.

zomg, I didn't know google could like "search" for stuff. That's just totally amazing.
/sarcasm

The direct link was already posted. I was just pointing out how to get there by using these things called hyperlinks to navigate to the site. But, more importantly, pointing out that it is about as miscategorized as you could get. The only way to put them in a worse place would be to list them on the newsletter sign up form.

Another reason they took them out: a new set of rules are incoming, and those faqs will be rendered useless (at most)

That doesn't really hold up. If it did, they would have just skipped uploading them at all.

The GW site is a storefront now.
Yes, and?

There's nothing stopping a storefront from offering links to related things that can help you use the product. Many stores do exactly that, including reviews and links to FAQs and user manuals and what have you.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

They do offer you links to other things. Other things on other sites.

No, they don't. They do not link to the Space Marine errata or even mention its existence on the Games Workshop website. A new player purchasing from the website would not be made aware of the existence of the FAQ/Errata even after a very thorough read-through of the store page.

I'm not bashing GW for the sake of doing so. It's hard to argue that this ISN'T a stupid decision on their part, when all it would take would be adding a couple lines on the store page mentioning and linking to the errata in the description for the codex.

Really? Then what's that Related Sites bit down the bottom.

Also, didn't know you were back from vacation.

Does not give any indication that a FAQ/Errata exists for this book-- or any other.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Well Googling that a few weeks ago wouldn't have showed the FAQ on the Black Library site. Easy to say now that it's there, but what if someone did that and nothing showed up for it? I actually did that, and all I got was forums talking about the missing FAQs no FAQs showed up, so saying someone to Google something is not correct.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

It's a list of GW's related websites.

There is nothing in that list that indicates that one of those other sites might include FAQs and errata for the game you buy in this site.

Right, that's my point-- from the perspective of the Games-Workshop website, there's no mention of the FAQ/Errata documents even existing. Yes, there's a link to the site that has them. No, it doesn't suggest that you should actually look there for the FAQ/Errata, or that there is even a FAQ/Errata to look for.

I never contested that. I said that they weren't hard to find and that there were links to other sites on their page.

The FAQs are not intuitive to find; although they were never that obvious in the past.

I agree, no they were not. I'd even go so far as to say they were COUNTER-intuitive to find. (I have often found it faster to just scroll down YMDC posts until I see Happyjew and just navigate to it from his sig.)

I STILL don't know how to navigate to it from the BL homepage. I have to Google it every time.
