Hey Dakka!

I'm after any links, sources and other material that could be considered 'canon' on the subject of Unification Era Terra i.e. the period before the onset of the Great Crusade in c.800.M30. This is all for a spot of fan fiction I've been writing.

Now, I've scoured various online forums, Lexicanum, Warhammer40k wikia and such like, as well as some of the HH novels and FW books (Betrayal and Massacre) and have compiled a fair bit of data. However, I thirst for more...

Right now I am specifically after any info on Jermani (Germany). There doesn't seem to be much out there, beyond this brief excerpt:

Jermani was a small techno-barbarian state composed of the territory of the ancient central European nation of Germany.

Do we know anything about Jermani's socio-political structure, technology levels, tribes, customs, famous characters etc?

There is barely any info available about the Unification Era Terra, much less about specific realms during that time.AFAIK there is no information about the Jermani so feel free to make your own stuff.

Funny you should say that, because that's exactly what I started doing. As much as I'd like to find something 'official' beyond what I already know, I guess I also want to check that what I'm doing doesn't go against existing canon.

But if there ain't none (which seems to be the case) then I suppose I'll have to make up my own... Which isn't a problem!

The wiki has a ton of (vague) stuff about it. Dunno how trustworthy it is, though, but most of it was written after they made more efforts to remove fanfiction..... I think.

We have little beyond the names of certain places and a few military units.

Very little information, there snippits but no huge chunks unlike the main story

Try 'The Last Church' by Graham Mcneill. Afaik, it is the only Black Library novel that takes place during the Unification Wars.

Yeah, I've read The Last Church which is an interesting little story and quite useful.

Unless anyone out there knows of any official Jermani fluff, though, I'll have to stick with the warlord and culture I have created.
