What about the MTV cartoon that came out between the first two Raimi films?
Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
They were still showing the 60's spiderman when I was young in the 80's to early 90's.
I also remember an animated X Men film that starred Spiderman in it, where you had, I think it was Arcade or Magneto taking over the X-men mansion and spidey (plus Kitty Pryde, maybe?) had to save everyone.
I voted for the 90's cartoon. It was awesome, however it had one major, major flaw in it. Nobody was allowed to die (Except, I'm assuming, Uncle Ben). This got rather weird considering most of a season was based around a storyarc that included Blade the Vampire Hunter...
Sam Raimi series. Easily. Maguire may not have looked the part perfectly, but he embodied the character pretty well. And the support cast (particularly JK Simmons) was amazing.
JK Simmons was fantastic. I agree, the Toby movie series was better than the Amazing one. And the 90s cartoon was also great. Those two were tops, but I think I'll go with the 90s one.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Sam Raimi's minor/supporting characters were all brilliant and looked like they were right out of the 90's cartoon (and probably comics - not really read them.)
In The Amazing Spiderman, there wasn't an Uncle Ben, instead it was The Illusive President Willard.
And Aunt May reminded me more of the Crazy Cat Lady from the Simpsons.
I can't even remember if there was a J Jonah Jameson in the first of the Amazing films (not seen the second yet...)
That list of options is really missing several important incarnations. While I will have nostalgia for Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and have enjoyed the films t varying degrees, the best non-comic incarnation I have seen is far and away The Spectacular Spider-Man (2008-2009).
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
Spectacular was awesome. I think my biggest reason for the 90s was childhood nostalgia. Spec really showed what a douche Norman was (pinning the goblin on his son), and really worked. Far better than Ultimate Spider-Man, which would have been a huge letdown if it wasn't for White Tiger's ass. Seriously, I've deduced that's the only worthwhile thing to come out of USM.

There are so many different ways you can take this question..
If you are limiting it to actor's portrayal of the character, i think Toby macguire was absolutely terrible. He simply didn't come across as smart at all. He was always goofy in a niave way which isn't how spiderman was supposed to be.
The current actor does a better job of making him seem like a regular kid from Brooklyn but there is way too much Emma Stone in those movies so he spends half the movie flirting.
If you are going to include cartoons i'd say the Ultimate spiderman is the best of the bunch followed by the spectacular spiderman. Overall the storylines are better executed and the damsel in distress isn't overdone.
I just still can't get over seeing Gwen Stacy run over electro, get out of the car and tell spiderman how to stop him (she did this multiple times btw). It was like we were watching the Amazing Gwen Stacy 2 with her sidekick spiderman. I'm pretty sure we saw more emma stone than we saw spiderman in his suit. Ugh.. I'm so pissed by how much of a waste of time that movie was.

Who you calling friend buddy?
I kid.. i kid..
In all honesty though, she was integrated into the movie a little too much at the expense of the rest of the story. They could have done a lot more with Harry Osborne's relationship with Peter Parker and it seemed really forced how they did goblin. Easily it could have been made into two separate movies.. The pacing was really off and very formulaic.
peter and gwen flirting.. spiderman action scene.. peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene..peter and gwen flirting. spiderman action scene.. end credits..
eye candy factor aside.. She didn't deserve the spotlight.
I liked her in it and didn't mind that the film found more time for her. Infinitely better than the charisma vacuum that is Kirsten Dunst anyway. If women are going to relegated to girlfriends in superhero films, then I'd rather they have a bit of spark and purpose than just stand around looking pretty before they need rescuing.
Anyway, Spiderman has always been pretty much deal with girlfriend issues/defeat villain/girlfriend dies/get new girlfriend/defeat villain/deal with girlfriend issues.

Spider-Man 2 is the best Spider-Man ever in my opinion. That movie is absolutely perfect, everything in it works and works great, the emotion is real, the action is exciting, the drama intense and the characters full realized. Alfred Molina gives one the greatest villain performances ever, creating a character full of pathos and tragedy, and the movie's sub-plots all weave together in a wonderful way.
Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3 have some flaws -- Spider-Man has a needlessly downer ending, and Spider-Man 3's subplots don't work well together and the climax feels entirely forced and pointless -- but overall I'd say its the best Spider-Man we've seen so far.
After remembering Spectacular Spider man I must change my decision to that. I enjoyed that far and away better than the 90s version. Mostly cause I liked the action better!
The 90's animated series and Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man are the most representative of the comics I think. Sam Raimi's films were ruined by the various cast choices and specific story elements.

I think the casting was fine in general, I mean things only really got bad with the Raimi ones when 3 was made and even it's not as horrible as the internet makes it out to be but it's not a good movie either.
