In 7th, the rumor is supposivly that instead of BS 1 snap shotting, its -2 BS.
Thinking through units that would benefit most by this, and the answer I came up with is...dark reapers. Guide these bad boys and all of a sudden you have a very nasty AA unit.
Do you think they would be worth there points with this buff?
What other units would be most benefited (in the eldar dex)

At 38 points per model, they can do it. Dev Marines probably do it better.

Harder to get the TL for them, but I can see the potential

Depends on the chapter, but with t4, s9 AP2 vs s8 AP3 (Las Devs), cheap (14 pt) ablaitive wounds, not worthless in melee, combat squadding (if you really want to)...

Reapers are good too. Just don't forget their price or fragility.

Good point. Also good because thats the one other race I have models for, and with unbound....

Dark Reapers have the added advantage of ignoring Jink and the ability to move while firing at full BS (Slow and Purposeful) assuming of course that those rules stay similar in function when 7th hits.

Oh and they also have Night Vision if you take the Exarch. I usually take the Exarch with a Missile Launcher and Fast Shot and Night Vision.

I use a 4 man squad regularly, and as AA they work very well, 5 shots Guided/Prescience I get an average of 2 hits with starshot missles. If the to hit roll becomes 5+ and 4+ (exarch) then your flyers better stay at home unless you target the reapers first.

An unbound army with Vindicare Assassins and use Turbo-Penetrator ammunition when needed?

Clan Raukan 3 Venerable Dreadnoughts with two twin-linked autocannon in both heavy and elite slots (especially if hull points gets fixed)

Dude if this is how it works out an Autarch becomes a serious AA unit.

They're valid for that. Guide is definitely useful. I already use them like that, work pretty well.

Warp Spiders are one of the more humorous units at taking down flyers, though. You drop a point of Strength and have to get close, but you have two shots per model, with each model costing half what a Reaper does, and Warp Spiders can move all over the table like mad (don't wuss out, roll that extra movement!).

The glory of snaps in -2 rather then BS1, if you had tons of "WTF do I do with this" BS, it means you are effectifly an AA gun on top of anything else, and can fire on the move without much trouble.

Heck, this alone validates the vindicare against ANYTHING, not just air units, by the sheer fact you allow yourself to take the first shot by stepping out of LoS, and sending a super shot at a still impressive BS6.
All hail the age of the assassin!

And grav centurions, they will also be funny. (and thematic, having your airplanes taken down due to gravity rifts?)

As for dark reapers, meh, they lack the rate of fire, or the pure strength to be unique at it.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
