Hi, I'm wanting a wound tank for my grav cannon centurions, and I'm using the Raukaan rules.
I'm thinking chapter master with artificier armor and Gorgon's chain at the very least. My questions are whether it would be worth it to take Tempered Helm for the reroll 1's, and what weapon I should take for him, ranged like Betrayer's Bane or something, a decent melee weapon, or some basic to keep him cheap?

This fellow is never going to be cheap. And I don't use Centurions, so I'm not the best person to help you, but I play Iron Hands and can tell you what I use.
I usually give him both Artificer Armour and Gorgon's Chain, usually a bike (20 points for +1 Toughness isn't bad, although his maneuverability would be destroyed when he joined the Centurions) and then Axe of Medusa, or just a nice Thunder Hammer (or both for +1 attack if you're really pushing the boat out). I don't think much of the Tempered Helm, but putting him with a shooting unit may change things up, less of the combat orientated stuff and more of the shooting bonuses?
I just think that a model like this needs to be right up in the enemy's face, in combat, to be a real threat, otherwise they could just ignore him and not take too much damage. The Betrayer's Bane is not worth it's points, if you want melta, buy him a meltagun.
That may be really confusing and contradictory, but I just sort of wrote my mind, hope it helped.

I ended up going Gorgon's Chain, Artificer Armour, no bike because he's with centurions so he gets 5 toughness, Axe of Medusa and a grav pistol (for an extra grav shot because why not), Tempered Helm for the reroll 1's.
I'm thinking of replacing the Axe of Medusa with a thunder hammer since it's just 5 more points and he'd have that extra oomph against tough targets, but he'd lose an attack because thunder hammer is specialist weapon. Any thoughts on his weapon loadout?

Yeh defo don't give him a bike as he will be a useless tank since the bike (in 6th) will give him a better cover save thus the opponent could focus fire on your cents and ignore him.

It wont matter in 7th as you can just not jinx.
But really if it is just a meat shield a cm with eternal warrior is about as good as your going to get

You cannot get +1 attack with the axe of medusa and a thunder hammer(or power fist), the axe is not a specialist weapon.
I wouldn't bother with the helm unless you had another squad moving up with the centurions, preferably sternguard.
You cannot buy Melta for any HQs, but betrayers bane would be alright in certain rare instances.Tanking with Centurions is not one of those instances; it would have been in a previous edition, but not anymore.
