So it's been about four months since my first post here (I was asking where I could find plasticard) and with some help from the board I got what I needed and just recently got around to converting my first model. I'm really happy with the results, my
GS work is admittedly really rough but for a first shot I think I did ok. I wanted to convert some skitarii for an adeptus mechanicus army (though I've never actually played the tabletop game, I should get around to doing that) but I wanted my skitarii to look a little more militaristic, I guess. I know it's not really in the AdMech's nature but I wanted to keep them a little toned down from the usual entirely robed acolyte look. I mean, the skitarii are supposed to be soldiers, right?
I'm disappointing in the crotch guard more then anything, and I'm going to make it a point with my next few models to polish that area up. I think it could do with another plate or two (as I've seen other modelers do with their AdMech) but that didn't cross my mind at the time. The hook looks a little wonky too but I feel when the model is down on the table and not so zoomed in it tends to look a lot better. I suppose if I was going to field these guys as an army this guy could be a sergeant in an Imperial Guard squad, seeing as he's got a chainsword.
The model is mainly Dreamforge's Eisenkern, some bastardized Necron heads, and then just some
GS. I really like the Eisenkern models and with their Black Friday sale a few months ago I was able to net like a hundred for just over 80 bucks.
