Does anyone know where you can get the back part (the bit connected to the back pack got PA marines? I've looked at a couple of bits sites and that particular bit was always sold out.

I hate to say this but i think ebay is going to be your best bet. I had the same issue when i was searching for them a while back

This eBay shop usually lots of bits for purchases. Postage is about £2 normally, I have used them before and it is alwyas on time and the bits are also intact.
