With Unbound in play, the troops that contribute to your ability to table your opponent will still be tenable (Firewarriors, horrors and the like). Otherwise, the optimal list will have all its points poured into its elites/FA/HA/HQ slots so that you can wipe your opponent off the board. Doesn't matter if it's a troop or not, dead units can't score.

That only works if they in fact table you, but it's not a guarantee that you'll be tabled.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

You don't need to table them, you just need to sufficiently reduce their forces to the point where they are unable to capture/contest enough objectives to win.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!" |

Painlord Titan Princeps of Slaanesh

That's a good point, and I think I might be looking forward to dropping my chaos lord to add a daemon prince to my army again. I don't like taking both, but I've needed him recently to make my noisemarines troops. Now that they'll score regardless, my HQ can be Belakor or something, take cultists as troops, noisemarines as elites, and havocs will be useful to hold backfield objectives! Score!
....literally!

I think it's a good development for Tau, their troops were always too fragile to score, but they have great offensive power.. Being able to hold an objective with Broadsides or Riptdes while their troops hose down the enemy with pulse fire and sacrifice themselves to block assaults will probably become a common strategy.
