Possible stupid question..

But when the formation comes on to the board what do the 4 Valkyries counts as? are they a squadron of 4, two squadrons of 2, or are they all independent?

Does the Formation say they have to be a squadron?

Or that they are purchased for a single entry?
I don't know much about this particular Formation but from what I have seen they follow similar format as other purchasable options. So if it has a single entry for the Valkyries and something along the lines of 'may include an additional Valkyries ... X Points' then they would be a squadron. Though I guess the wording is more likely to be along the lines of 'must include X Valkyries,' as formations do not often give you that much in the way of flexibility when it comes to what you can take.

There is a Valkyrie FA slot that can take up to 3 valks, but 4 seems odd, I can only guess there squadron upped by the odd language used in the formation section,

this MT codex has reared up loads of unanswered questions, guess got to wait for 6.5th to make heads and tails of them.

I would ask theses questions but I don't think anyone knows the answers to them.

They are separate units. There is nothing in the Airborne Assault Formation restrictions or special rules that states that they are a squadron.

if that's correct than tha'ts pretty awesome, I am guessing to take a formation you need to have a HQ and 2 Troop(basic army) to then add a formation to.

Yes, you must have a primary detachment. However not all primary detachments need 1 HQ 2 troops - inquisition and Imperial Knights, for example.

I am think of a main army of MT using a base army plus formations, then AM as allies with tank commander, at the moment got my IG set up to the new AM codex, but I keep think about playing them as MT to see how MT play,
