Hey All,

Bringing a Skyblight list to a local tournament this weekend and I'm torn between two lists. The first is as follows:

Flyrant w/2 TL Dev
Flyrant w/2 TL Dev
Flyrant w/2 TL Dev

Bastion
Venomthrope

11 Termagants
10 Termagants

10 gargoyles
10 gargoyles
10 gargoyles

Harpy
Harpy
Hive Crone

Alternatively I can swap out a Flyrant for a second Hive Crone and upgrade a Termagant squad to warriors, then have 30 points left to spend.

I love the 3 flyrants
That is a BRUTAL punch to almost anything.

My concern is your very small and very useless troops choice.
I assume you are using the bastion not only as LOS cover but with the teamwork of your venomthrope to provide an INSANE cover save for.. your troops. respectable but now your only 2, very small and weak troops.. have to hide and probably are not capping an objective point... which means you are hoping for a table or to at least deny their cap points and gaining first blood slay warlord and line breaker....

Ill be honest. anyone who has any season under the belt will shut this list down very hard in 5/6 gametypes. .. purge the alien type formats however you will dominate pretty hard.

I would reccomend.. trying my best to get 30 termagaunts and a (as much as they nerf slapped it) a tervigon to poop out tons of little babies on your side of the field to cap any points you have near bastion. keep it out of los AND with the venoms cover it will be VERY hard to kill. will provide synapse as your only 3 synaptic links will be no where near your venomthrope or 2 troops...

Just my thoughts.

Recall that in Skyblight, gargoyles have the Objective: secured rule and also come back into ongoing reserves on a 4+ each time the unit is wiped. Also, in the scouring I would be fine because my 3 FA choices score. I'd only really be worried about big guns and crusade, but even then if you're trying to shoot down the troops, chances are the big baddies are going to do some serious work.

You're right about the synaptic cover being far away from my troops in general and that is part of my concern. At 1750 I can toss in another hive crone and turn both of the Gant squads into 3 warriors, which is where I feel this list shines.

I agree, "as is" I'd be happier with at least one Brood of Warriors. Two crones and two Fly'rants should be enough to dominate at 1500.
