The need to glide for a turn has been confirmed in a scan sadly. The same guy also confirmed that VS is one hit, or d3 on flyers. Smash I am unsure of.
That is terribly sad. I can't decide if I would prefer to come down for a guaranteed turn of shooting against me or come down on their terms but be able to assault the following turn. I suppose in a way, this is better. Although it was nice to hope that we never failed grounding checks, it did happen all the time. And it was an issue. Now, we effectively will probably never fail a grounding check, and as it has been pointed out, in many cases it will be awesome to fail a grounding check since it will mean that we are able to assault the following turn. Overall, I think if we had kept the d3+1 strikes against ground targets I would actually be pretty happy. But with
AP 2 and keeping d3+1 against flyers.....good God that Hive Crone. Can I take 5? Oh wait, yes I can! I think that it's a pretty fair deal overall. I think that we got super happy hoping that
GW had dawned the golden age of
FMC, but it turns out they may understand that certain things would have basically broken the game.
