Alright folks,

So I'm looking for something similar in build to the box that comes with GW's complete paint collection, so I organise them by colour and label the drawers so I can easily find each one.

I'm currently just using a tool box though it takes ages to find what I'm looking for which is less than ideal.

Obviously I don't want it to cost too much - no need for it to be gold plated

Lastly, does anyone have experience of tamiya's pens? I want something to easily apply black edges to a white background on my apothecary, are they any good?

Thanks,

Si

I just use a toiletry bag, not flashy but certainly portable.

I made several shelves out of 2x2's. It helps to have a full front view of my inventory. For travel i have a hardshell generic tool case made by tool shop that come with adjustable foam padding. It wasn't too spendy. Hope that helps.

I recently bought these draws, they're actually modular, so you can make it shorter, or taller (if you have more draws). For the colour chart, it's probably easiest to just print something out and tape it on the front of whatever you end up with.

I've heard of many instances of people buying nail polish shelves - makes perfect sense when you think about it. Most paint jars are about the size of a bottle of nail polish. They even make shelves on rotating bases similar to those old CD stands from way back when.

MaYbe an old verticle CD rack, get right type, cheap from charity/thrift store. Addsome old cheap CD cases, in stand movebkle shelves, for various types, ernpugh storage for at least the paints your not currently using.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I got a nice looking wood box from Michael's on sale for $20. Comes with two layers of shelving and dividers perfectly sized and spaced in width and height for GW paints. The top shelf has all my paints nicely ordered and sorted by layer, technical, and base.

the bottom shelf holds my glue, basing supplies, and various modelling knives, paint brushes, etc... Works great and was super cheap. I'd recommend searching MIchael's if you have one nearby.

Thanks guys - I've found Hobby Zone in Poland that looks pretty damn good. Rotating nail polish shelf sounds good too though - thanks all of you for your recommendations

A wine box was the perfect height for vallejo and minitaire paints. Compact, easy enough to move around.

That's a cool idea, though I'm looking for something that I can have the labels facing out so they're easy to read / locate. I have something similar in style now to what you suggest and just want it to look neater for our lass and easier for me. Thanks all the same though!

If you paint the tops it works really well and you don't need to see the names. Took a while, but seeing everything at a glance like that does wonders for my creativity I find.

Yeah that was a sweet idea, I have already started doing it when I crack a bottle open - at the very least it stops me from mixing lids up!

Go to a hardware store, the one I went to had a small box unit, that was meant to hold nails, screws and other small parts, I find that they hold paints perfectly and even came with label spots so that I could find colors easier.
