Just got the 7th edition book today and noticed that there's no leadership test on physic tests anymore. So what does shadows in the warp do now?

Will probably (hopefully) be FAQed.

Anything else interesting in it?

Calm now. Wait for a FAQ. Pretty much every rule and bit of wargear currently does not work with the new psychic rules. Spell Familiars, Leadership buffs (like Daemn of Tzeentch), etc.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Thats it! I am starting a bogus rumor that Shadows causes an auto Peril each turn, to any Psycher in them...!

FMC's only make grounding checks on unsaved wounds and only at end of phase. So only once per shooting phase.

There's going to be a FAQ soon...hopefully.

Leadership is what keeps your psykers alive after they peril, shadows might still be very usefull...

A few questions, since you have the book...

Can bikes assault after jinking?
Can psykic powers effect superheavies?
What is the new str "D" ?
Do jump infantry get jink?
Does everything score or just all infantry or just all non-vehicles
Is there a ban on first turn assaulting?

I wouldn't hold your breath on an FAQ. It may very well be SitW was intended to no longer be an anti-psycher mechanic but merely a nuisance for a psycher unit.

That said, we do appear to get Dominion without having to swap and the shooting powers are pretty nice now that they occur in their own phase.

Look at Perils in the Warp, I heard there's leadership tests there.

Something I am curious about, are Tyranids affected the same way as other psykers? Kind of strange we can be touched by the warp when our powers aren't warp influenced.

It's pretty clear by GW's behaviour they don't care about Nids.

Let's all remain calm and wait for the FAQ/errata. Remember when the 5th edition nid dex came out and we got our errata/FAQ 6 months later when it was needed the day of dex release and then it made some things worse? So don't worry, GW knows what players want.

It should probably be called Perils of the Hive Mind for Tyranids. Even a creature designed to project it might be too fragile to actually withstand it if too much power gets allocated to it, which might happen quite easily in battle.

Can bikes assault after jinking?
I don't see anything against it, they can only fire Snap Shots though.

Can psykic powers effect superheavies?
I don't see anything that says they can't be? What would it be listed under, haven't read the whole thing yet.

What is the new str "D" ?
There's a table that they roll on, str is counted as 10 if it has the ID rule, Multiple wounds/Hull points do not carry over to other models in unit? The table is different for living beings or vehicles\buildings and is pretty much attack fails on 1, does d3 wounds/hull points on 2-5, and d6+6 on a roll of 6.

Do jump infantry get jink?
No, they do not.

Does everything score or just all infantry or just all non-vehicles?
Any can be, unless, it's a swooping FMC or zooming flyer, special rule that says it doesn't, it's falling back, is a building or fortification that is unclaimed.

Is there a ban on first turn assaulting?
I don't see anything official on this, but I haven't read the whole thing yet either.

Feels like they got the short end of the stick on psykers, there not even listed on the psyker card, from the psyker deck, so it's looking like all they can choose from is the 7 powers from the powers of the hive mind list, where as everyone else in the lists has like 5 they can choose from.

As far as I can tell, there is no ban on first turn assault. However, rules like outflank, infiltrate, arriving from reserve and scout all mention that you can't assault the turn you've used this rule.
All deployments are 24" appart so with a 12" move for some units and a very good roll on your assault you still wouldn't make it unless you go second in which case you could also assault in the previous edition.

It has it's place, though if they do change it I doubt that it will be for the better.

Do they want the D?

Something I'm eagerly waiting for a FAQ is the Talisman of Arthas Moloch, from Farsight Enclaves. Nowadays it lets any friendly unit within 12" of the owner (and itself) to roll 4d6 DtW and pick the highest.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, they kept the ID part? That good to read

Ya all living in a fantasy land. GW's stance on wargear being invalidated by a new edition has always been "tough gak, don't take it then".

well maybe not , like it was said before on here , leadership checks are supposed to be important to the perils chart, so in theory it could help us there. The new rules for smash just kicked the crap out of us though......

Yeah, several of the Perils effects are roll leadership and if you fail something bad happens.
