Not including any forgeworld offerings, which of all the fantasy models is biggest overall on the table?
I'm assuming the ogre giant thing, but really don't know.
I just fancy buying a nice big model to paint from the fantasy side of things (don't have any whfb stuff at all right now so doesn't really matter what faction) - there are no models I outright don't like, so thought I might just get the biggest thing on offer then find something else later for it to "face off against"

Maybe the Arachnorok spider?
edit: I thought the Slaughterbrute might compete, but I've only seen it online. Didn't realise it's only on a chariot base. Looked much larger to me.
Also, the Screaming Bell is not only a fairly large project, but fun to paint too.

the slaughterbrute is big.
as far as footprint on the table goes the big monster kits all come on a 100mmx150mm base now, which is the standard monster base. It kind of depends on what you are looking for. Dragons are always a good piece to paint up for show but if you have any chance you may want to play fantasy one day I would consider finding something from an army you may want to field on the table. here are a few of my top choices
Ogre thundertusk/stonehorn
high elf dragon. also if you want a quick one to start with the island of blood prince on griffon is not very big but cheap to get and a nice miniature that has a "monster" feel to it
chaos chimera and manticore. the chimera is the cheapest coming in at $42
orcs and gobblins Arachnarok Spider. this was the first miniature to come out on the big 100x150 monster base.
the new wood elf treeman
finally the lizardmen carnosaur
I think all of those look great and all of them are plastic and come with tons of bits. all of those that come with riders are able to be made without riders except the stonehorn/thundertusk and high elf dragon I believe. its been a while since I built one and I didn't bother to not add the riders.

How tall is that big lizardmen dinosaur thing?
There's a fair chance I'll end up with at least a small army representing most or all the fantasy factions, literally everyone has at least a few models I like (unlike 40k where some factions just out right have no appeal), so I'm really not bothered about forward planning how something will fit, it'd all work out in the end.
Just a bit tired of painting bolters and power armour etc so, big fat fantasy model might be order of the day

that is a huge model and also a pain to paint/assemble/store. its very fragile and has to be painted prior to assembly

The carnasaur/troglodon is very cool. May not be the biggest, but certainly the better model (in my opinion). Heaps of freedom in how you make it and well, its a giant lizard. You can go wild with colours and it still make sense.

Lizard men are actually a high contender for "my first fantasy army"... As said above, they are lizards who walk like men, and - the range of colours I can use across a single army without it looking just wrong. Greens blues purples yellows... That's cool.

I also started them recently and some of the models are amazing. The most alien race GW has created I think. In aesthetic and fluff.
I did mine green but for the "special dudes" they are gonna be a pasty orangy yellow to mark their greatness or something. Plus the beasts can all be different colours so you never have to repeat the same few colors across your army.
So yea, you should get into it. Go nuts with their bases and colour. Embrace scaly flesh!

I think it'd look perfectly fine to have different colors in a single unit with those guys. Say 10 skinks... 6 all slightly varied shades of blue, a purple one, a yellow-ish one and a couple or green guys etc.
That could work. That's how I'd do orks too, all various shades of green.
Having kept a shed load of reptiles myself you always find differnt colours in a single species... At the very least different shades of the same color

All my skinks are the same base colours of green. But I used a huge amount of different shades and mixes to add slight variation from skink to skink. Looks pretty good and subtle.
Might work for you too.

Start a Lizardmen army bro.
Bipedal lizards, dinosaurs walking around with axes and maces, enormous toads who cast magic, command pulpits mounted on the backs of huge Stegosauri, glorious models to paint as the large dinosaur kits - and there are a lot - have huge bodies with a lot of real estate to experiment on and so forth.
The possible color schemes are literally endless as well.

Tallest is the Dark Elf Dreadlord on Black Dragon. I'm not sure about base size, length or amount of plastic though, but the Arachnarok, Slaughterbrute and Stonehorn are all pretty big beasties.

It was the misses talked me into IoB, I don't think she realises the can'o'worms she's opened by getting me to start fantasy (she doesn't play she just liked the HE)
Literally no army on the fantasy side that doesn't hold any interest, every army has a good few models I like.
Whereas 40k there are armies I just won't touch
Still got a good 100+ quid spare for my hobby this month might get a nice big lizard men model
