So just got back from the store and I'm reading the 7th edition rules.

Uhm.... just wanna make sure I'm not misinterpreting this, but it says there's no limit to how many detachments I can have in a Battleforged Army.
So does that mean I can take, let's say .... 4 Detachments, then have 8 HQ slots, and 8 Troop minimum squads that all have the Objective Secured benefit?

So Battleforged armies can still be almost as crazy as Unbound armies? Sure, not the same freedom of taking like, only 10 Heavies, but much less restricting than only being tied to one Force Org chart and one Allied Force Org chart.

Or did I miss a paragraph somewhere?

Yes, as far as I can tell it is perfectly legal.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!"

Hmmmmmm... that's unfortunate. A detachment number limit would likely be needed for events in that case.

You don't feel that suggesting rule modifications within a few hours of the book being available is a little premature?

It's not exactly exploitative, or poor. 1hq two troops, at normal point levels, to unlock realistically one or two more of a key slot, is a lot

Depends on the HQ it gets exploitive fast with demons allowing them to dominate the psychic phase.

I imagine nids could pull some use out of it in fact anyone with cheap troops and monster hq's.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

what are daemons stuffing more of in per detachment that are cheap at say 1850?

its not going to be the HQ slots. IIRC you can only take the heralds once per army? it might be FOC though..

troops might be trickier but that will depend on the FAQ re Hoorors. and that many points for 1 ML aint worth it.

CSM 20,000 Pts
Daemons 4,000 (ish)
WoC over 10,000
6000+ Pts

bremerton, wa

daemons only need 2 detachments to feel broken below 2k. and it's as simple as bel/fate with 12 units of 11 horrors at 1850 that will have everyone cringing

if at first i don't succeed, that is why i bought a gun with a large clip.

As long as it's not a knee-jerk reaction based on zero playtesting.
