Subject: Smash attack and Grenades

Defending Guardian Defender

Can you preform a Smash Attack using Grenades or is Smash specific to the characters strength?
For example, can i use Krak grenades with are str 6 and can be used in assault and perform a smash attack using that making it str 12 seeing as smash only grants one attack now?

No. You most definitely can't. Smash is related to the units strength characteristic. You also cannot adjust any characteristics above 10.
So it doesn't matter what strength the grenade is. A smash attack is a single attack at twice the models strength characteristic.

Grenades use a set value which is different to most common melee weapons which use the models S. So no.

But could you, theoretically, smash with an S2 model with the grenade? So you get S6, but also AP2 and armourbane, or whatever bonuses 7th gives.

Offhand np idea but id allow it, i see it as the model ramming the grenade through the armour of the target. mark this purely as hiwpi and not raw.
