According to BRB because he lost more guys than I did, he lost the combat and has to make a morale check to see if he tries to run or not. He failed and then next I have the option of a sweeping advance which I win and proceed to kill the remaining 13 cultists. Was this a legit play here because we were a little shocked by how many people my small group killed?
That's right. Remember that this also represents the unit being scattered, with individuals running for the hills. A regular fall back move represents a relatively ordered retreat; a sweeping advance represents an all-out rout.
I like to imagine that, while a large proportion of the unit might be killed in the rout, the rest just fled the battlefield.

You sure can. Both 6th and 7th edition specifically state that you can, under "Joining and Leaving a Unit".

3a. Same question but different unit. He had a Chaos Lord solo in a tree, can he attack himself?
Brainleaf Fronds only affects non-vehicle units. Despite moving like Infantry, Walkers are still vehicles.
Yes, Brainleaves affect single-model units as there is no exception for this.
Zodiark wrote:4. BRB says more than 25% of a vehicle has to be covered to be within cover. He had Hellbrute chillen with some Chosen behind the sandbag fortification covers we proxied. Does this place him under cover?
How long is a piece of string?
Only the players can judge that. You'll need to get down and look, and judge for yourself whether they are covered enough.

Not true. Some terrain specify that you just have to be "in" the terrain to get the cover save, in which case you don't need to be obscured at all. Others still have the 25% requirement as a general rule. First paragraph under "Terrain Types" in the Battlefield Terrain section.
