Upgrading axes is annoying for me because it's not justifiable to worry about, but its annoying for when you do need wood because it takes forever to get it because my axe is two tiers behind everything else.

No, ignore hammers, eventually you'll get a special hammer from a boss (you'll know it when you get it). Other than that, there's not much point to it, I find a wooden hammer suits me easily.

Mhm. Upgrade axes and hammers are your convenience, not as high-priority. Armor I find is actually the most important thing to upgrade after picks.

Armor is incredibly useful, and I find getting a ranged weapon (IE bows) is also a nice bonus for boss fights, even if they don't necessarily do a whole lot of damage.

I still haven't tried a range weapon yet... maybe I'll give it a go tonight. I had a flare gun but sold it since I wasn't really using anything ranged.

The flare gun is more for screwing around and annoying friends by shooting it everywhere in their chest room. At least, that's what they interpreted its use to be...

Did a quick Terraria session tonight. I tried to record the game using the Windows 10 game dvr thing. It didn't work though... not sure what happened... I did a couple Hearthstone sessions and it recorded those fine.

It's also good for raining flares down on your friends from the skybridge you secretly just built.

I had to reinstall Terraria... (I restored my laptop and have my desktop setup and installed terraria to that).

So I started terraria assuming that somehow my stuff would be in the steam cloud or something and sync with the game... but nothing is there... I had to create a new character and world. Is there a way to get back my old stuff? I didn't see any option where i could download from a cloud or something.

ack... i figured it out... I don't think i had it set to save to the cloud. Ah well. YAY get to discover stuff again! and now I know a little bit of what I need to do.

I keep having goblin invasions. Like, far more often than I remember them happening. I think I've had five or so happen in less than ten days in the game.

It's not a huge problem; more of a nuisance at this point, but man, have I got a lot of spiky things now.

Funny thing, just after I posted that, I got yet another goblin invasion, my first one in hard mode. I guess it's better to have this one than any of the others, because I am super unprepared.

Maybe less so now, as I got "godly shadowflame knives" out of it. That's a new one for me.

I'm kind of caught up now since reinstalling terraria in that I have a gold pick axe and a gold broadsword. and I found that eye ball thing to summon a boss... just need to find more heart containers ...with the previous game I found like 4 or 5... so far with this game only 1.

I've found heart containers seem to be most common in the jungle. I don't know that for certain, but it feels like I find a lot there.

There was a golden rabbit... or was it a squirrel... I meant to right click on it... instead I whacked it with my golden pick... was it for anything special? I also discovered the usefulness of cobwebs... sticky explosives are fun!

If you catch it you can sell it for ten gold pieces. that's the advantage of gold critters.

Oh and their terrariums are fancier.

I've lost count of how many golden squirrels I've killed by accident. It's a shame there isn't a golden squirrel banner, really.

Sadly, I did not have good luck. And I forgot I was holding... rather a lot of money.

Got a neat golden gravestone out of the deal, though.

Yeah, they've been adding a ton of content quite regularly. It's nice to see devs actually care about their game post-release.

Not only that, but it they started updating because after their "last" update (1.2), pretty much the entire community wanted more, and they delivered quite nicely.

There's several options for throwing-weapon based armor, actually, but throwing weapons sort of die off in the mid-game.

Also, the food options in Starbound are consumable buffs now.

I was only aware of one armor set for throwing, so thank you for that. I think it'd be cool for it to be able to go throughout the entire game, but we already have a nice bit of classes, I guess.

And, yeah, I knew they gave buffs, but its still a bit of a slap to the face to me.

I wish they at least let it be a toggle-able option.

I like how the game can still surprise me at times. I just found an enchanted sword for the first time. It's... useless to me now, but the way it's placed is kind of neat.
