Since the drake is no longer at the very top of the god chain with the 360 torrent flamer is the hades auto cannon now a potential choice? You could fly him at the sides or the back of tanks and hit with 2 or 3 of the shots and glance tanks to death or would he still be good with the flamer and just not using it as much and vector sticking stuff

From what I understand, Drakes are better as anti-air than they were in the previous edition. There might be a use for their autocannons after all.

The new Vector Strike is good for anti-air. Taking a Hades Autocannon to supplement that seems to be a sensible idea.

Drakes aren't better as anti-air.

Well, it's more that they are now far worse at dealing with ground targets.

The template still hits 360, still better than most flyers.

The vector strike is anti-air, flamers is anti-troops.

Except that if you vector strike a flyer, that means it's behind you by the shooting phase so you can't shoot it with the autocannon. Keep the baleflamer unless you plan on jinking a lot for that 4+ cover.

The hull mount ruling was probably aimed at nerfing the baledrake. Unfortunately it hurts the hadesdrake even worse. Its very hard to make use of both the hades and VS on your turn and the hadesdrake is way overcosted if you just do one. The hades drake was fairly decent before because it had the one two punch of VS then shoot rear/side armor. Now, not only can it not do both in one turn unless your opponent goes out of his way to set it up for you, but you won't be getting much rear armor now that dragons can't turn their heads. If they wanted to nerf the baledrake they should've just increased the baleflamers cost. The hadesdrake was fine where it was.
