Hi all,

I have my first 7th edition outing tomorrow, planning to field a defiler with:

- Power Scourge
- Reaper Autocannon
- Twin Power Fists
etc...

So, the defiler has 3 attacks base, but has 3 close combat weapons, so does that mean it has 2 extra attacks?

Also, if its base strength is 8, are the power fists resolved at strength x2, i.e. strength 10?

Lastly, are all the attacks (including the additional bonus attack from the power scourge) made using the power fist profile, with the power scourge reducing the WS of models in base contact by D3 in the fight sub phase?

To recap, in this configuration, do I have a walker with 6 attacks on the charge at strength 10 AP2, plus a hammer of wrath attack, and a piece of wargear that reduces opponent's WS by D3?

Thanks in advance!

A.

You can only get 1+ attack from having multiple weapons and if it defiler has no other equipment that is classified as a cc weapon, attacks are made with power fists.
Otherwise thing is just as you stated.

Let me answer with actual rules.

You gain +1 bonus attack no matter what weapon you use.

Having more than 2 weapons do nothing unless otherwise stated.

Having a specialist weapon only restricts the bonus attack when using that weapon(and this model has a second specialist weapon).

You may use any 1 melee weapon you have, even a basic CCW no matter how many weapons you have.

That way,then left

Except for a walker, then you get an attack for each additionnal ccw. Specialist weapon does mess with this though

Good catch, I had not noticed that in the rules until just now.

So +2 attacks for a defiler with a scourge.

Specialist has no bearing on this particular unit, The rule only denies bonus attack to a model USING a Specialist weapon unless that model has a second specialist weapon(this one does), so whether you are using the power fist or the scourge you are gaining +2 attacks for 3 weapons(although I can see an argument about the scourge as a third weapon along with the specialist rules and honestly both sides will have valid points that neither will gain an upper hand so let us call it right now as "agree with your opponent").

Thnks all,

P91of the 7th edition details CC weapons for walkers, P172 details specialist weapons. I read it that the power scourge would also need to be a specialist weapon in order to gain another attack, which it would appear it isn't.

Still, not bad...

Cheers!

Specialist weapon: "A model fighting with this weapon does not receive +1 Attack for fighting with two weapons unless it is armed with two or more Melee weapons with the Specialist Weapon rule."

If you are fighting with a non-specialist weapon the Specialist weapon rules do not apply and you may gain a bonus attack.

DCCW are specialists weapons I believe.

They are not, just Sx2, AP2, and Melee

It doesn't matter, since Defilers use power fists and not DCCW anyway.

So, if you're attacking with a power fist, you do not gain an attack for the scourge, as it' snot a Specialist Weapon. If you're attacking with the scourge, you DO get the bonus from the power fist(s), as the Specialist Weapon rule doesn't apply.
