I'd say no if you and your friends are not playing deathstars made of psykers. If your local meta is to play the most current stupid lists you can make up then maybe, however you can get along without.

Well, psykers are now much less reliable as compared to 6th edition. If you had no problems with psykers in 6th, I don't expect you will have a problem with them in 7th. The real question is, do you need to be able to utilize or defend against the new daemonology powers?

Most psychic-heavy armies will have something between 8-12 WC to use (Eldar, Tyranids, Chaos and GK), unless they really build their list towards WC-farm. d6+8-12 isn't that much.
If they focus too much on WC-farm, the rest of their list will be weaker - kill those and leave the psykers for last.

Turns out that lots of bullets handles both.

Likewise, if you could handle demons before, you can handle them now. I don't see why a pile of Sv5+ guys are that big of a deal. The fact that it's a ++ doesn't change the fact that it's also a 5.

I think from what I know about it, it's really a case of if you both have 1-3 psykers it's alright when one army has loads it's a problem.
I play Tau and am so glad about it. I don't even have to worry about psykers which means I can concentrate on the worst case scenario which means bring more Dakka.
Kill those pesky pyskers with as much firepower as is possible and with extreme prejudice.
I actually think Tau got a massive boost this edition, they don't have to get in on the psyker stupidity. I know I'll save my charge for attempted denial and ignore the craziness.
I do feel like I should swap up plasma rifles for burst cannons.

My sisters of Battle have none, though I did try one out for a while. Looking at 7E they still don't look necessary.

My Dark Eldar have none, nor my Tau (yes really, and they never did!)

Other than my eldar Airforce, i never used Psykers for Eldar since 5th Edition started basically. I was an Ulthwe player with lots of Psykers and then just got away from it. My airfroce however does use them heavily.

My Sopace marines 9which to be fair i nearly never play) have none.

So when i come to think about it, i hjave a lot of forces that don't.

Well the strongest tournament build, the Ovesa'Star, got the axe, and Tau as awesome allies for a BuffCommander has disappeared as well.

What is great is getting an additional turn against FMCS, so nice!
