Tried my hand at it.
My inquisitor with conversion beamer and force sword was realized with the new librarian kitted out with wraithblades bits and some necron stuff. Too bad i don't have a good camera to show it.

The ease of conversions is by far the main reason why I like 40k over other miniatures. I don't think I have a single model that is stock out of the box. I'm compelled to at least do a head swap.
I guess the floodgates are already open... here's a handful of mine.

Oh man, no part of the hobby will ever give me as much fun as kitbashing. Seriously, not even gaming. That's why I love GW games - lots of customizability with even more bits with each release.
Want to build an inquisitor? Be my guest - Tempestor Prime from Tempestus Scions kit + sternguard bearded/old head + some proper bits and you have a fantastic Inq.
Vehicles? Endless possibilities. You can orkify/krootify anything you want with little-to-no amount of green stuff required.
Champions? That's where the concept shines the most(aside from orkification). Regular troops using other units' bits? Perfectly possible 90% of time and remaining 10% can be fixed with a wee bit of file work.
Bases, accessories, stuff to slap on vehicles/monsters.. fantastic gak. Hell, look how much fun you can have by kitbashing various chariots for Beastmen/O&G using different kits for each.

Personally I've never been a fan of kitbashing or conversions in general; I can appreciate good conversions but I'm not good at it beyond basics (e.g. swapping around weapons or torsos on Space Marines) so I'm generally not into it.

I LOVE IT!!!
Nothing like building your own generals or units and knowing that you are probably the only one in the world that has that exact model. And since many of the sets are compatible, for example the entire space marine and ork range, there is quite a bit of upgrades for every model and with easily accessible stuff like plasticard and greenstuff you can build the bits not made by the model industry.

Wow, there's some great stuff in here!
I love kitbashing, and some of my favourite models are the result of glue, an overfull bits box and too much spare time. Inquisition stuff is the best to do, but you've gotta love the interchangability of anything in power armour as well.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I very much so enjoy it! Orks are my top army, so of course I do plenty of it for them.
I like conversions in general. Just started a Rogue Trader army, converted a Commissar to be the Rogue Trader, took some Empire Free Militia (were actually from a set of Mordheim humans, but same models) and gave them 40K heads and weapons. Trying to figure out more fun to do with it.
And some Bullgryns out of Ogres with "slabshields" made from various tank vehicles. Still trying to figure out how to do the grenade launchers.
I also have a set of Terminator characters for my Space Marines. (Horrible old photos, I'll have to get some better ones soon.)
And it might count, but I added some bits to my Imperial Knight while modifying him up to tell the narrative of a "dishonored" Knight (so I could use him with any army I wanted to, and it looks cool).
Full writeup on the Knight:

I can't wait for the new Ork codex and kits to be released so I can do even more fun!

I've kitbashed 5 out of my 7 Crypteks from warrior bodies and Praetorian bits left over from my Lychguard box. Upgraded a Destroyer to a Destroyer Lord with bits from said box as well.
Looks way better than the official models in both cases IMHO.
