Sorry if this has come up before but I haven't had much luck searching, I have only been able to find results referring to 6th ed rules.
Let's say I have a CSM sorcerer with the Balestar of Mannon which allows me to reroll failed psychic tests. I roll 2D6 to cast a WC1 power and get double 2s, so the power has failed to manifest but since I do not have the Daemon rule I would suffer perils of the warp for getting any doubles, but I get to reroll failed psychic tests so do I get to reroll my double twos and not get Perils if nothing ends up as doubles after the reroll or do I get Perils and then get to reroll to see if it goes off anyhow?
TLDR: Does Perils go off immediately or after the dice are rerolled if I get doubles on a failing number?

You ignore the first result. It is as if it never happened.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

As above. There are some rules (forgeworld had one, from memory) which "remember" the first roll, but these are explicit.

The ork's current "Waaagh!" rule also remembers if the first run roll was a if you choose to reroll it using fleet.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Yep. Rerolling is supposed to represent some weird mastery level or control of fate or something good on your side. So you get to ignore the first result and the second becomes what "actually" happened.
Just don't fail on a power without perils to then fail on the power AND get perils.
