Subject: a couple of drop pod questions in 7th ?

Seems there are a couple of buffs to the drop pod other than the "objective secured rule" that we got now in 7th edition.
#1 - - Results may not always lose a hullpoint. If a weapon effect does not specify that it loses a hull point it just takes the result and not the hull point
so drop pods dont lose a hull point when they come in correct ?
2 - Deep striking vehicles now count as moving at combat speed
so death wind launchers can now shoot when they come in now instead of waiting a turn ?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

True. But they didn't in 6th either.

Also true. A reason to take them, now!
Also, Happyjew, you totally threw me with that new avatar! I didn't even recognize you!

This is very interesting, because in the German version of the rulebook deep striking vehicles still move at cruising speed.
I think there's another difference between the languages in the objective secures special rule.
In the German version every unit in a battle forged army gains this special rule, so it would only matter against unbound armies. If I read the forums correct. I assume that in the English version only troop choices gain the objective secured special rule. Is this correct?

Well, they did up until GW changed the rules.
But that argument is long done.
