Hey guys. Just showing my newly finished battlewagon. I have an Armies on Parade event coming up soon and I need to get to work finishing up my display and models. Still have two more wagons to go, a dakkajet, big mek, warboss, and some touch-ups on some older models. But for now. WAAGH!

The spike bulldozer thing counts as a deffrolla. I didn't like the concept of having three identical deffrollas so I decided to get creative. I figured spiked tusks made from a tank trap were appropriate. Let me know what you think!

Very nice! The Colour combination makes it really stand out.

And how did you get the effect of the red? A watered down wash with tough ups after? It is a very even red.

Thank you! I think I am going to do a more orange/red faded truck, almost like flames, and then a more rusted/metallic one so that they are all different.

Milkboy I use an airbrush (cheater I know) to achieve the even red coat. I prime black and then basecoat with Skorne Red from the P3 line. Once that's dry I go over it with Khador Red (P3 as well) on the highlight areas. Usually that means the top of the model, corners, and the middle of larger panels etc, leaving the edges lower to the ground in the original darker red. Lastly I go over the cracks and "dirty" or shadowed areas with Nun Oil sprayed through the airbrush as well. For some reason the air and pressure makes the wash almost like a light spray paint aerosol of color. It dries almost immediately and tints the red darker. Sometimes I also go over the red areas with red ink through the airbrush as well if I want a richer red color.

Very nice! Wish I had an airbrush. It's one of the things I want I get some time this year.

The armor looks like it's just basecoated. I don't see any other work done.

I agree. It looks as though it has just been (very well) base coated. A quick black or dark brown wash would make the panel gaps/recesses stand out a lot more. Also, apart from the girders on the front, the whole thing looks factory fresh. fluff wise, ork vehicles tend to be battered collections of scrap, held together by the sheer belief that it'll work.
