Belial with Storm Shield and Thunder Hammer (190)
Deathwing Command Squad with Apothocary, Chain Fist, Assault Cannon (275)
Terminator Librarian (95)
Deathwing Squad with 7 Terminators, 2 Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, 2 Chain Fists, Assault Cannon (348)
Land Raider Crusader with Deathwing Vehicle, Storm Bolter, Multi-Melta (295)
Tactical Squad with 6 Marines, 1 Plasma Cannon (99)
Razorback with Twin-Linked Lascannon (75)
Tactical Squad with 6 Marines, 1 Plasma Cannon (99)
Razorback with Twin-Linked Lascannon (75)
Dreadnaught with Twin-Linked Autocannon and Missile Launcher (115)
----------------------------------
That puts me at 1666 points, and I'm looking to fill out the remaining 184 points towards an 1850 list. I'm not looking to change what I'm already using, I'm asking for suggestions on what can be added to it. (This is mostly because the above list consists of models I actually own, and I don't want to purchase a whole lot more while I'm waiting for the new Ork codex)
My initial plan was to add an Aegis Defense Line with Quad Cannon since I'm lacking in anti-air, along with a 5 man tactical squad with multi-melta to operate it, and set that up near an objective probably with the Dreadnaught while the two Razorbacks move to secure other objectives and having Belial's team Deep Strike near the Land Raider on turn 2 to provide support to the Librarian's team rushing out of it. I would like to see what other people would do with the remaining points.

Buy a techmarine with a full servo harness and a pfg and a storm bolter. That will account for 110 pts leaving you 75. Use that to buy a squad of sniper scouts with a rocket launcher
You could also use those points to buy a servitor and a whirlwind
You could also buy a lasback
The techmarine would ride in the lrc and provide the tank with a 4++, and if necessary he can disembark and attempt a repair on a 4+
If someone were to be so foolish as to assault him after the repair they would face a techmarine with a 2+, 4++, a flamer, storm bolter, and plasma pistol to overwatch with, and when challenged he would get 4 str 8 ap1 attacks at init 1
His servitor is a little less amazing he has a 4+, 4++, str 8 ap 1 strike at initiative 1. Worst case scenario the tech will kill everyone and the servitor will die meaning you only repair on a 5+
Its a pretty dirty way to play but it works.

The digital codex still states that the PFG does not work outside of vehicles. Just so you know. If you wanted to do this then the tech marine would have to ride on a bike outside.
You might want to add a mortis dreadnought, and posibly replace your dreadnought for one too. This will give you some anti air.
It is almost certainly worth it to give the LRC extra armour to make sure it can keep moving.
Another level on your librarian improves your chances of getting invisibility.

Can I put a Tech Marine / Servitor into my LRC with my current setup? I was pretty sure I'm out of room and wasn't aware that he could share the LRC with the Terminator squad it's carrying.

I agree with Bigblindbill a mortis dreadnaught or 2 would do wonders for the list by bringing some needed anti air firepower.

I find this funny because some digital editions don't say this. And all paper copies after the faq still don't say this. So your statement is inconsistent with what I have both heard and read.

It's not so much for the TL, as it is the ignore cover, especially when night fighting. Automatically Appended Next Post: So, after the advice I've seen, what do people think of this for fleshing it out? It puts me at 1841, and gives the LRC a 4++ until the Librarians squad assaults out of it.

Personal Preference, I tend to like Las on my Anti Air to have a better chance of Pening and disabling. Though I agree the AC are much better for standard units.

I don't take the mortis for AA.
It's the best dread for shooting ground units, and with the ability to choose to be AA or ground, you can have a useful unit for all lists..
Not to mention, I bet you statistically the khaines is better than LC anyway against air.
If avg AV on air is 11 -- khainse is 12 shots (vs 2 for TL-LC)
Lets do the math:
12 shots, 5/6 hit (BS=5) = 10 shots hit (83.33% chance to hit)
pen on 1/6 (6+) = 1.7 pens (17% chance to pen per shot)
1.7 pens per round, but they're AP2 and cause D3 HP
Meaning 2.55 hull points on average, per round.
Vs TL-LC
2 shots, 5/6 + (1/6*5/6) = 35/36 hit = 97.7% chance to hit
str 9, AV11 (3+ pens) = 2/3 pen = 67.7% chance to pen per shot
65% chance to pen on each shot
1.1 pens per round AP2
So I think the Khaines AC are better actually, especially considering they're better against ground targets too.
I'm sure there are issues with my math, just something to do while I was cooking dinner.

I can afford Mortis dreadnaught's, but not contemptor mortis pattern dreadnaught's (Both points and cash wise) and I thought those are the only ones that can take Khere's Assault Cannons. I'm stuck with regular Twin-Linked Auto Cannons on basic Mortis Dread's (If I'm reading Imperial Armor 2, and Imperial Armor Aeronautica correctly)
I would need to free up another 100 points somehow to upgrade them to contemptor-mortis dreadnaughts Automatically Appended Next Post: Bryceloop, What is the math with two twin-linked Autocannons? (Str 7, AP 4, Heavy 2)

Oh, I'm sorry -- It was I who was confused. I thought mortis was the version that allowed duel khaines AC, but it's the contemptor.
Err,
TL-AC: 5/6 + (1/6*5/6) = 35/36 hit = 97.7% chance to hit
Str 7 vs AV 11 needs 5+ To pen = 1/3 = 33.33% chance to pen
4 attacks * .977 *.3333 = 1.3 Pens per round

Before the updates IA volume 2 came out I would have said go with the contemptor mortis dreads with kheres and CML (I have 2 myself).
However they were nerfed with a price increase and a reduction in their ballistic skill, making them ver comparable to standard mortis now.
I like the mortis with lascannons, as they also fill an anti armour role in my lists.

I'm not sure myself, as I don't have the digital codex. But from this thread I started that is what others have told me.

The Mortis Pattern still gives Skyfire and Interceptor when standing still, so it makes it one of the best AA options for Dark Angels. Even if it's not as good as the contemptor pattern, it's a lot cheaper (both points and cash) and worth fielding, especially if your opponent is fielding any flyers.
Someday I'll field some contemptor patterns though, 14 anti-air shots a turn per dreadnaught. . .

There is no specific model. It just a normal dread with a another heavy weapon on its other arm.. Use magnets and then you can have both a venerable and a mortis.

What is the point difference between a standard Mortis with TLLC and CML and a Contemptor?
Is the only difference between the two now just the extra 1 point of armor on the front? I haven't received my book in the mail yet so I can't make a comparison. Thought I would be pretty upset if I just dropped that much cash on a Contemptor for a net of 1 armor on the front... Automatically Appended Next Post: Nevermind, did some digging. Seems the standard mortis can't take the CML. Nice to know its an option for cheaper anti air, but I am looking for the CML as well to knock out crowds while it isn't shooting birdies.

The biggest difference is that the contemptor can take the kheres assault cannons, which each have 6 assault cannon shots a turn. They also have +1 armour, a 5+ invulnerable save vs shooting and can take the CML.
If you want a price comparison, then the Contemptor mortis with autocannons or lascannons, and a CML is 95 points more expensive than the mortis with the same weapons (obviously without the CML).
Before they were cheaper and had BS5, and so were awesome. Now they are still good, but the standard mortis is much more of a competitor.
