  • Previously, only 2000pt legal due to the double FoC. Now, unless I miss my mark, 1500 legal. This totals to 1490. Thoughts?

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

I like it looks like fun, would you instead consider maybe taking one of the new Formations for the Helbrutes?

That murderpack or whatever is pretty awesome.

I think you could fit it in if you dropped one or possibly two of the Fiends.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

I like the way you're thinking!

As Hollismason said, Helbrute formations are pretty good for a mecha themed list. I like the Mayhem Pack. Kit them for ranged and deepstrike them.
The Murder Pack is also good but 500pts is a lot for a 1500 pts list. But if you can afford it, it is a massive firemagnet which actually takes some time to get rid of.

Normally I'd suggest Be'lakor or some sorcerers for those Maulerfiends, but since there are so many I don't think you'd need one.

What are your plans for the Warpsmiths? Hang out with the Cultists and try to repair damaged dinobots? The Maulerfiends will be out of range, and I'm not sure if they are worth taking just for the Forgefiends. If you take a Helbrute formation, they become less of a burden but unless you do, I'd suggest you take cheaper lvl1 sorcerers and spend the rest of those points on more cultists.

The list looks cool in general, but I'm not a fan of the Hades+Ecto configuration on the Forgefiends. Take either or, the weapons don't work that well together. You could use those 50 pts. to take another squad of Cultists or upgrade the Warpsmiths, for instance. Like, take Auras of Dark Glory for 5++ and then something else?

I like Brute formations, but with unreliability of deep strikes / reserves and the slow pace of Brutes without I feel they don't mesh well with the Maulerfiends' speed. The Smiths are there, yes, for the Forgefiends - and because to remain Battle Forged I needed two HQs that would be relevant to (and perhaps fluffy with) the list. Sorcerers feel like a tax more than a use, while the Smiths can zap enemy terrain for the Forgefiends to then pound while the Maulers haul ass downfield.

I agree it's not ideal, but I really couldn't find much use for the 50pts. I could take ten more cultists, but I feel 40 is enough. I could take invuls on the Smiths, but when they're in 10 man cultist blobs and probably behind a Fiend, do they really need it? Especially when I don't particularly care if they go down.

I think there's actually a formation for the Helbrutes that is like a Helbrute and some Cultist, and it makes the Helbrute rather surivivable. That'd be a pretty cool thing to have.

? Sorcerors are great! Ok you dont get the 2+ but the ability to compete in the psychic phase is worth it. Knocking off your opponents invisibility is priceless.

If I had the models, id want to try 5 brutes in pack, made invisible by belakor, with another 3 teleporting in. :-)
